Shepherd's Crook - Reservar una mesa

I have just returned from one of the worst meals I have ever had, and feel incredibly disappointed. Our family used to frequently dine at the Shepherd's Crook and have had some extremely good dinners and lunches there, but we hadn't been for some time....Where to start ... first of all, the service was incredibly slow, despite the fact that it wasn't a busy night at the restaurant. It took forever to get service, then forever to get our drinks (just beer), then forever to finally get our meals. The food in general was sub-standard: processed, warmed-up, low quality fare. Our loaded potato skins' were lukewarm (clearly warmed up in a microwave), bland, and not cooked all the way through. The...

The Shepherd's Crook took my group of twelve for dinner on a Saturday night with very short notice. They went above and beyond to accommodate us, were very kind and friendly. The service was amazing, the ambience was cozy and laid back. I had fish...and chips--the fish was crispy and golden on the outside, with light batter, the fish was flaky and fresh, the chips were fresh and perfectly cooked--one of the best fish and chips I've ever had! Every member of my party said their food was fantastic. I can't recommend this pub highly enough. I thank them for making my birthday so memorable! We will be back!

Used to come here a lot in the past and then for a while we didn't get great food or service. This time the food was back up to snuff, had the steak and kidney pie but I wish the service was better. Had to...ask our waitress what the daily specials were and she really never came around to check on us, chatting away at the bar mostly. But even with the service I definitely will still give it a for the quality of food and the atmosphere that evening.

Trying our best to support local businesses post covid. Cannot recommend restaurant, been here three times, now, as others have said service painfully slow, seconds from walking out then our food came. No one else in the restaurant. Sadly won’t return, well maybe for...their Irish Nachos and a pint. Please do something about all the flies.

This was our first visit to the Shepherd’s Crook. It was excellent! The decor is lovely. The service was great, very friendly. We had questions about the salads we were thinking of ordering, and our server was very knowledgeable and friendly. The salads were excellent....We weren’t rushed at all. We’re planning a return visit soon.

Visited the restaurant on February Most items were sold out. Service was slow. Greek salad was pure watery! Chicken curry was nothing but potatoes. Overall terrible experience.

Food is always really good, only thing is I find it weird they don’t put any condiments on anything unless you ask. Everything is served dry

Wonderful service fast efficient and great food. Would definitely recommend for any occasion. Atmosphere was very welcoming.

Good pub for friends and family. Entertainment on weekends. A good variety of food that will fill you up!
