I went to Si Wei Tian for lunch on a Tuesday afternoon. Since I work a short distance from the restaurant, I decided to give it a try since I travel up and down Willis Avenue to shop and run errands during the week. The restaurant appears to be a converted bar. I found it dark inside. I ordered stir fry soba noodles with chicken and shrimp dumplings. I thought that the food was extremely bland. There are actually two superior Japanese restaurants on Willis Avenue within blocks of Shi Wei Tian like Sakaya and Tinbu. I left a 20% tip because the service was very good. I now regret this because as I was leaving I overheard the owner who is a middle aged Chinese male use a racial slur in Cantone...
My workplace frequently orders from this restaurant, and we always have a great experience. The staff is friendly and very accommodating. They often provide us with coupons, and the food is delicious with generous portions. I tried the Hawaii rainbow roll, the fantastic roll, the calamari dragon roll, and a sashimi roll. Even though it wasn't a day for indulgence, I couldn't help myself! They kindly prepared the rolls in the special naruto style for me without any issues. The calamari dragon roll was fantastic. We will definitely keep coming back!
We ordered delivery on a Sunday evening, placed our order at 6:34pm, and received our food after 8pm. The food was incredibly bland. My sister ordered the chicken udon and said it tasted like plain noodles. I ordered the beef teriyaki bento and found the shrimp tempura, miso soup, beef teriyaki, and even the tempura dip to be very bland as well. We are hoping for a better experience dining in, but we are not planning to order from here again.

I left a 20% tip because the service was very good, but I regret that decision now. As I was leaving, I overheard the owner, a middle-aged Chinese man, using a racial slur in Cantonese directed at me, as I was the only customer in the restaurant at the time. I’ve picked up some Cantonese over the years from a college friend, and I was taken aback. I will never return there again. This restaurant is now closed.
I often take my friends to this restaurant with my highest recommendations. I visit this restaurant often. I get very good feedback from my friends. The dishes they serve are yummy and the team is efficient and cooperative. Whenever we eat in this place we pass a cheerful time. highly recommended.
