Shingle Inn - Capalaba Park

I’m old enough to remember the original Inn in the city. The ridiculously airy cakes that nearly floated off your plate; the dumb waiter down to the kitchen below; the pots if tea to go with your cake. This is the memory. The modern day...coffee houses that display the name still have the charm, but coffee has become the beverage of choice. Baristas are the essence of any great coffee. I’m not sure if they all get the same training, but the Capalaba Shingle Inn always delivers a fabulous cup. Just the right temp for it to be hot but creamy smooth. Ordered the Halloumi and Mediterranean salad. The sweet potato was raw, the mushrooms olives and eggplant tasted like they were out of a can. The menu said drizzeled with lemon and it was drowning in oil, no taste of lemon. Sadly it looked like it...had been sitting around waiting for someone to order it. I thought it would be fresh ingredients. The coffee was ok but I won't be in a hurry to order a meal from here in the future. Would expect a little more for

This restaurant not only has good customer service but also shows you how many kj are in each menu. My friends also enjoyed it as much as I did and also would be returning

Filling and tasty burgers. Coffee was great cold drinks were satisfyingly delicious. Family enjoyed atmosphere good service. Will come back again
