BRAVO TEAM SHIRO !!!! We savored a fabulous evening at Shiro 's this past Sunday with 21 guests in their back room and fantastic feedback ever since then. A sampling of emails and texts received include: The hosts did an outstanding job with beautiful flowers and table settings which set a wonderful tone for the evening. The food was exceptional and service staff was very kind and accommodating. As you know, I love Shiro’s Restaurant and was looking forward to the venue. What a fun, lovely 80+ celebration. The food and service was everything you would expect from a high end dining establishment. The hostess and servers were genuine and kind. Omg The bread is excellent lol. We had the catfish, squash blossoms, black truffle ravioli, and filet mignon. All the dishes expertly crafted and well thought out. Best beets I've ever eaten. I woulda appreciated rice with the catfish but also I would order rice on pizza, so I'm a little biased I just gotta knock it down half a star for the ambience. The decor is a little outdated, and considering the prices of the meals, you'd think they get real flowers and candles. Other than that everything was lovely will recommend!
The service was impeccable... the creativity of the entrees was so fun, the appetizers so delicious that you want to order two and have them as your entrée. Yummy desserts don't hurt. Even one of the owners took the time to say hello, making sure that everything was up to par. A great location to park your car when going to the Pasadena Playhouse just walk after dinner. No room for improvement. And I'm a world culinary traveler, so I believe my comments are based on many years of high-end, eating and formally cooking.
Some friends and I hosted a dinner on Wednesday night for our buddy who is getting married soon. 8 of us and we couldn't have been more pleased with everything. I, and a couple of others had the signature catfish, it did not disappoint and was sooo hearty. The other table choice highlights were the black angus filet to the salmon. The cocktails were very good too the service was friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. It had been a while since I was at Shiro's...I won't wait as long next time.
The food, ambiance and staff here are phenomenal. Our family has been coming to Shiro for over 20 years. This is the perfect spot for birthdays, engagements, holiday get togethers and everything in between. The shrimp ravioli is a must and their chocolate soufflé is a dish I never miss. Can't recommend this location spot enough!
