This place used to be fantastic. My son loved going for the fire show. However, it seems to have new staff now, and the experience has really gone downhill. We ordered drinks and had to repeat our order several times, yet we never received them. After asking for our drinks twice, they eventually brought my child just a glass of ice without any actual drink, which was odd. Our order wasn't complicated, so that was disappointing. The sushi was extremely dry, and I even found something in my food that definitely shouldn't have been there. Overall, it just isn't the same as it used to be. The fish pond at the entrance is now the highlight of the visit.
We LOVE eating here! I’m currently obsessed with the Denny’s roll and my husband orders his sushi à la carte. Their Shumai and Edamame are yummy, too. We always order Sapporo and Hot Sake and chat with Eric, the owner, a very nice man. I highly recommend visiting this restaurant! The staff are friendly and welcoming. However, they unfortunately don't have cream soda available. We ordered the chicken and shrimp platter, which was a huge portion and very satisfying. On the other hand, the Kani Salad wasn't great, so I wouldn't recommend ordering that. The spicy tuna roll, though, was quite tasty!
I’ve never been a huge fan of hibachi, but this restaurant offers an entertaining experience, and the food is incredibly flavorful. The scallops were definitely a standout. The shrimp, fish, and beef were all delicious as well. I really enjoyed the fried rice and noodles too. We had a wonderful time! Overall, I give the food a 5/5.

You definitely need to check this place out! The food is bursting with umami flavor. I've tried three other restaurants in Forest Hills, and this one has the best hibachi—better than Benihana, even. The show is entertaining, and the staff is really friendly. Food rating: 5/5.
Very nice place, food is okay and atmosphere is good as well. Fried rice are on dry side and no flavor. If you just looking for different type of food. But food is okay, for me it was 2/5 for food.Make sure to always check your bill, when sitting with different party.
This was my first time going to a hibachi and Shogun did not disappoint. We had a great time with the family. The food was great I made a reservation day with no issues. Food was great and the shogun punch is a must try. I will definitely come again.Food: 5/5
The food was very good for the price. Great portions, and wonderfully sweet staff. Quiet venue with nice spacing. I really don't have any negative things to say about my experience.
