Have to say this experience left us searching for words having being treated so badly by a very ignorant man who clearly cannot be wrong, We use this Chippy frequently (Now Past Tense)as its very close to our Apartment in Whitby, So we ordered as usual and mentioned that an a previous visit the Chips were not cooked through at all, Not after a freebie just thought they would like constructive feedback, What followed was ridicules as the girl spoke with the Fryer because arms length away from us as if you don't know this Chippy you pay at a Window outside and get a numbered ticket given to you then your food is handed to you from another window once your number is called, Old owners let you i...

We used this chippy as it was close to where we're staying for the weekend. Ordered haddock and chips x2 and portion of peas £17 . The girl taking the order was not really listening to us and we had to keep repeating ourselves. Sat on the bench to wait , then back to the apartment . Mine was quite greasy and the batter was soggy underneath .My BIG complaint was THIS WAS NOT HADDOCK !! It had a strange taste to it , which lingered well after eating it. We come from a fishing port and know what real haddock tastes like not this . Avoid if you want to actually eat the fish you asked for.

Often use this chip shop and it has a very good reputation. However on this occasion, I found the portion to be very small and the chips undercooked. On this particular visit it was the Cod that I was the most disappointed with, in that it was more like a half portion, and when I cut into it, it was what I could only describe as bits of fish inside the batter, not one solid piece of fish. I have no idea why it was like this, and have never before come across this. All in all very disappointing and certainly not value for money.

I’m staggered by some of the previous posts I ordered two haddock and one portion of chips and a portion of 4 small fish for our dog the fish was thick and meaty you could actually taste the freshness the batter could have done with cooking a little longer has it was soggy in the middle the girl who served us didn’t seem to be listening too much either I would prefer to see the fish being cooked inside the shop didn’t like the open serving hatch enjoyed what we had Reserva una mesa ahora

We had read previous reviews about this takeaway and decided to give it a try for lunch, and we were not disappointed. The fish was a good size and covered in perfectly cooked light crispy batter. The chips were just the right golden brown colour I like and to top it all, they were cheaper than any other takeaway we had looked at. The local park is just around the corner, so we sat in the sunshine, looking at the view of Whitby while having our lunch.

I ordered food and had to wait for an hour. When my order finally arrived, I had only received one portion instead of the five that I had requested. It seemed like they didn't grasp the concept of time, and there were no salt and vinegar available. Many frustrated customers were also waiting for their orders. I recommend not going to this restaurant unless you have an hour to spare.

We had heard fantastic things about Silver Street Fish and Chips, but unfortunately, this turned out to be the worst meal we have ever had. The chips were disgusting and the fish looked like it had come straight from the freezer in Iceland. We will not be returning here again.

The fish was disappointing and dry. It used to be really good. I wonder if there are new owners now? I didn't like that I couldn't go inside the shop, they served me through a hatch so I didn't see the Haddock and Cod being fried. I will try a different place next time. Reserva una mesa ahora

Always a must when in Whitby...great fish and chips at a decent price. A bit limited on the opening times but suppose it was November. Food cooked to order...great!

Took 40 mins to get the order, took it back to hotel to find the order we got was wrong food was oki but not good service
