We stayed with the family (2 adults and 2 children) at the restaurant for dinner. The ambience is nice and family. You definitely feel comfortable. The services are very nice and accommodating. The drinks were quickly brought to the table. The choice of food is fine. There is a standard card with additional changing dishes. We were very satisfied with the freshness and quality of food. The food was very delicious. Even small extra whites were immediately fulfilled. The staff are all very happy and friendly. All around you feel comfortable here and can spend a nice evening. However, you should definitely book in time as there are not many places.
We're regular guests here. We are 1-2 times a month in Saalfeld to visit our grandparents and are then (almost) here for dinner every time. From time to time we try another restaurant and have to find out that it tastes best in the Eschenstübl! Not only the food, the lumps and the delicious roasts are a dream. The service is always super friendly (especially the lady who always serves above). For many years the same super quality! Great compliment!
Good kitchen with thüringer monasteries, we were a closed company (25) at an otherwise closed lunch, It was filled with all the Wüsches, only 4* because a bit difficult to reach, access to churchrstr.
Super food and very friendly service! The local and especially the beer garden are charming, very beautiful and quiet! At the next visit to Saalfeld surely one of the first starting points! :

There is absolutely no need to make a reservation because it does not have so many tables. Very good regional cuisine with thüringer monasteries and thüringer specialities also wild dishes.
Unfortunately, the hosts had eaten themselves and for guests there was nothing in half an hour we could have got a coffee. We noticed we were disturbed.
We were all very satisfied. It is beautiful both outside in the beer garden as looking inside. Brdienung is courteous and helpful.
The donkey has a good bourgeois kitchen. You can only recommend it. In summer you can sit in the beer garden.

The Eschenstübl is a little hidden in a small green oasis. In summer you can eat under free sky.
