Delightful pub just up the road from Crawley, Gatwick and Charlwood. Opposite a beautiful wooden church. There is a beautiful Inglenook fireplace with horse brasses and a post horn surrounded with fascinating artifacts and cozy seating. I had the pork and stuffing pie which was very tender and generously sized. My friend, Tony had salmon on Moroccan base which was beautifully prepared. Dessert was just as delightful with my Sticky Toffee Pudding of excellent quality with generous caramel sauce and a large dollop of chocolate ice cream. A wonderful discovery! We received a warm and cheerful welcome when we stopped in for a quick drink on our way to a hotel for an airport layover. We ended up trying the baked camembert and chips, and they were fabulous! Even the chips were delicious! We will definitely return for a full meal next time we're heading to Gatwick. It's a shame it's not our local spot; we really loved the cozy atmosphere and the charming fireplace. Well done to everyone there—keep up the great work! We made a last-minute reservation for a lunch outing with my mother and grandmother, as well as my daughter and her two-year-old. After a nice, refreshing walk around the village, we were welcomed warmly on this cool day. Our meals arrived promptly and everything was just right. The two-year-old fell asleep in the car on the way home, which was the perfect ending to our day!
