I have never left a restaurant before receiving my meal but tonight l did.The night was an Anniversary Dinner with my 2 adult children.It didn't start well when we walked in and the booking was incorrect. We booked for 4 but they had it down as 6 and our surname was wrong which caused confusion with the waitress because she wasn't sure if the booking was ours. I said to check the contact number we left when booking but she said it hadn't been written down.The restaurant appeared full but they only had 2 staff on the floor which wasn't fair on them.This resulted in a 20 minute wait just to order drinks and then another 20 minute wait to order meals.After half an hour the waiter told us that t...

Attended today for a booked 1pm birthday lunch for 8 people. We arrived at 1, with a couple of guests already present, but weren't seated until about 1.20.Another 20 minute or so wait later and we finally get someone at our table to take food and drink orders. And then waited close to an hour for our orders to be served!I can't say the place was overly busy either, so I don't think that was the cause of the delay. The menu was very poor. There was a scotch fillet on the menu, but you could only order it medium to medium-well done! Sorry, but I don't like my steak crucified! Returned to the restaurant after about a year; menu has not changed and is still rater pedestrian; given the competition within a 5 ks radius. Servings are on the generous side. My steak requested medium was well done and dried out; perhaps it was rested under the salamander for too long. Vegetables and salad were adequate. The entree of bread and dips was quite large; the duck spring rolls were soggy.As a few guests had arrived; our mains which were meant to be delivered in 5 minutes were over 20 minutes due. It was a busy Saturday night with most tables full and only one waitress taking orders. The poor women was stressed and very apologetic. After a considerable time our drink orders were taken and after much longer our food orders were taken. We then waited well over an hour and 20minutes for our food. We would have liked more than one drink but it was impossible to get any service. In the end we resorted to getting our own water and giving up on ordering desserts. we were a group of 20 people having a reunion.The waiters very nice and friendly. The services was quite good considering the restaurant was full.The place was a little difficult to find as the sign was laying against a wall a difficult to see.

These people deserve a zero. They have closed, without even the decency to notify our friends who had booked the venue for their daughter's engagement party next month. Now they are left in the lurch despite paying a hefty deposit.

Any restaurant that is about to close it's doors and sells a $100 voucher has very questionable management! Particularly when the voucher is signed by the owner! I hope he doesn't try to open another restaurant!

No matter how hard I try, I can't seem to muster more than a slight feeling of excitement about eating at Slippery Jacks. It's not terrible.
