Restaurants specializing in fancy burgers seem to be opening all over the Central Florida area lately. One of the newest gourmet burger chains to recently open is called Smashburger. They currently have two locations in the area, one in Waterford Lakes and another along Colonial Drive in Orlando. Just before they opened to the public, I was invited to come try the Waterford Lakes Smashburger for a media preview. This is a diamond in the rough. The location is absolutely horrible, but I was very pleased with the food I was served. My wife and I both chose the mushroom Swiss truffle burger. It was moist, tasty, tender and piping hot. I mean you need to pause a few minutes before you bite into it hot. If you can imagine that perfect cheese pull that cheeseburgers promise but rarely deliver. This one did. I was excited to choose the sweet potato fries to go with my burger. We really enjoy their burgers. I typically place my order online for pickup. However, I often encounter an issue when I arrive at the restaurant — the staff usually don't ask if I ordered online, which would allow them to check if my food is ready. They seem focused on their tasks, even though my order is often ready and could be handed over to me within seconds. Most of the time, I have to ask about my order and then go check for myself. Additionally, they've recently increased the prices of their burgers from $1.50 to $2. I highly recommend the Colorado Burger.
Smashfries are the bomb! Gluten free bun available. Mention the allergy. They'll put an alert on the order! ? Always a busy place. Understaffed like most of America right now. Clean Restrooms. We watched the young man bagging orders put on new gloves after touching anything other than food wrappers. Thank you! General manager [Jose] was positive and upbeat with customers his 2 employees despite the restaurant being overwhelmed with orders. Gabriel who took our order was friendly and quickly bouncing back forth manning the front end.
My wife and I ate a bite before a movie. You have to say we were pretty impressed. Overall, we like it better than Five Guys and Steak Shake. I have a bacon cheeseburger, the truffleries and a vanillashake. The Shake was amazing. The Burger was also very good. The fries were fine, I'll get the regular one next time. Again, we really liked it and believe that this will be our new Go-to-Burger community.
Never had the burger chain before so decided to give it a try. It's on par with all the other franchise burger barns. Meat is a good quality, similar to another chain just better. Can't go wrong with a burger and fries, they have sweet potato fries too! I had seen signs for Hagen Daas as well. In and out, great service in a clean atmosphere and can't ask for much more. Worth the try!

First visit here I ordered the classic smash with tomatoes and onions. It came in an egg **** and that was a very good burger. It is a thin taste, but for me it was full of taste. Order the frits with olive oil, rosemary garlic, they are like shoe stockings, they were good. The next time the spicy buffalories will try. I'm sure I'm back. It beats 5 guys
Smashburger is always fun with great food. I just wish there was one by me Smashfries are a favorite, and I appreciate that they offer a GF bun option.
