Great space, clean and good decent food. Customer service could improve, you get the vibe that the people behind the bar doesn't want to be there and very distracted, they need to be more attentive. Be careful and check your receipts before payingthough. Upon closing our tab, they AUTOMATICALLY CHARGED 20% gratuity for a table of 2 people, maybe because it was SuperbowlSunday, but really though? We don't have a problem with giving 20% but It would have been ok if they let us know they were goingto do it, and not try to be sneaky about it.
I love this place!!! Whether I come for live music, a pop up party, or just to have a few drinks and watch the game, this place is always a great experience. The bartenders are friendly and know how to make a good drink. The food is solid and the vibes are always awesome. Good place with good staff. Definitely a Brookland gen. I would recommend anybody who's in the neighborhood stop bye.
This is a unique gem in Brookland, offering delicious food and even better cocktails, all within a fantastic space. The owner and staff are incredibly accommodating and can host a wide range of events, from large parties to live music performances and fundraisers. It's definitely worth making the trip to Brookland!
I love this space. It has a nice DC Afrocentric feel and they have good vegetarian friendly options. The staff is very Moesha coffeeshop looking, which adds to its authenticity. They are randomly closed for events so call ahead if you're coming far.

Community Conscious, Great Food, Supports the local DC music scene and simply an amazing place to kick it are among the many reasons why I love Smith Public Trust. Definitely a place to visit when you are in DC!

Every time I'm in D.C. I make sure I stop by Smith Public Trust to get the chicken red velvet waffles!!! Great food and wonderful atmosphere! I highly recommend!!!!
