I would not recommend this place do to the lack of food safety protocols not being done, no foods safety management certificate or even a ServSafe card anywhere in the kitchen area required by health dept. law. Food is left in the same steamer pans several days if not more than a week. Food sits on the line from 11AM to 8PM then to a refrigerator just to go back on the line the next day and the next. She refuses to even use hot water to wash dishes because it uses too much electricity. The 3 sink how to use “by the health dept.” is right over the sink that even tell you to rinse with hot water and she argues it costs too much to run the hot water from the water heater to the sink. Melinda treats you like a guest in her own home, making you feel incredibly welcome. You can truly sense her passion and love in every dish she prepares. The barbecue here is outstanding! I discovered this gem while working in Lennox, and it's definitely a must-visit if you're in the area or just passing through!
The smoked meats are amazing! Always tender, juicy and full of flavor. And many of the sides are made from scratch and very delicious too! I haven't found anything there yet that isn't good.
