I was apprehensive about dining here for our anniversary after reading mixed reviews, but I am so glad we decided to come. We went on a Thursday at 5:30 and were the only ones there. They were out of a few appetizers, including one we wanted, but we ended up getting the bread service with cheese and were very happy with our choice! The Root Beer New Fashioned cocktail and wines were fantastic. The filet steak and elk chop special were delicious. The mac and cheese side was average. We were too full for dessert! This restaurant has potential and has improved significantly over the last few years. While it may not reach the heights of its past as one of the best restaurants in Little Rock, it has made great strides. The honeysuckle martini I tried was refreshing and delicious. The seafood fondue was decent but needed more flavor and cheese. The ahi tuna special was beautiful but plain, lacking a sauce. Despite its higher prices, I was pleased to see the improvements since my last visit three years ago. The ambiance and hidden location are still appealing. While it may not be as impressive as it was a decade ago, I will definitely return.
Food was exceptional, but extremely overpriced. We were not given a price on the specials. We should have asked, because we would never have thought three scallops in risotto would be $70. The bone marrow app was absolutely delicious, but featured at $18, and we were charged $22. Short rib was average at best. Our server, Elliott, was very knowledgeable and friendly. Ambiance was lovely. Bill for two was close to $300 after two drinks, two entrees, and an app.
great place to fall for a glass of wine and a bit of eating. they have an extensive wine list and a competent staff that can help them choose the perfect wein to go with everything. many tellers to share or go to eat.
