I have never experienced so many issues at any pub before, and you couldn't even consider this pub to be a restaurant in your wildest dreams. Most of the staff from all shifts were hanging around off duty and completely unaware of any problems. The manager was even there, drinking like usual. I encountered multiple issues and the staff didn't seem to notice anything, despite unprofessional security inside rather than at the door. It's truly disappointing, especially for what was supposed to be a sophisticated event. Do yourself a favor and steer clear of this pub.
Well done to the new landlady. She has made this place like a breath of fresh air.the pub has all the rules put in place without you feeling uncomfortable. Love the handsome man behind the bar.... the prices are very good.juke box.even my favourite song came on..had a wonderful experience 3rd visit with my friends we could chat and laugh ..will return soon .also my friend has organised a booking for her 50th.tables and all procedure taken care off.etc.thank you
Well there are different venues in gravesend for different kinds of nights and the Somerset is up there with where to go if you want fun. Friendly staff you feel you’ve known like friends, lovely landlady recognised from other past venues, always welcoming and a various array of all types of customers . Never a dull moment in this venue and guaranteed to have a good time especially with the music nights now allowed
Stopped off for a drink while in Gravesend on Sunday was made to feel very welcome so we went back yesterday evening. The bar staff were friendly and helpful and the service was excellent. The drinks are very inexpensive and served well. We think that we will make it our pub of choice when we are in the town in future.

It's a long time since I have been in the Somerset Arms. It boasts it is real ale house, but there was nothing to eat (crisps? and the beer was only OK. It's a great pity because it has a prominent position near the station, and the surrounding area is scheduled to be redeveloped in the near future.
It is over 50 years since I used the Somerset Arms as a local and I was interested to see how well it has survived. Pleasingly, as well as having pretty much the same layout, it still has the ambience of a proper, old style pub and it was really nice to come back, albeit only for a flying visit.
This is a pleasant and welcoming pub with reasonably priced drinks. They do not serve food, which is not a problem for me as I prefer a traditional pub atmosphere. However, I do have a major complaint regarding the ripped seats with razor-sharp edges that give the place an unsightly appearance.
This is a fantastic pub that caters to both football fans and music lovers. The staff are friendly, the atmosphere is great, and there is even a free jukebox! I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for good service and quality beer. A thumbs up from me!

Took some friends there because it’s close to home , Fairly roomy pub, music was fairly loud. Service was slow only 1 bar person . Beer was at a good price but not cold enough . Decor needs updating.
Then get upset when you question them for skipping customer selections?! Used to be our local....a lot quieter than usual, can only put this down to the poor change in staff
