I recently visited Sonny's BBQ for the first time in a while, and I was eager to try the food again. Upon entering the clean restaurant, I was warmly greeted by the hostess, who asked how many were in my party—just me—and expressed appreciation for my U.S. Army infantry hat. I was seated promptly at a clean booth and the server quickly came over to take my drink order. The drinks and menu arrived shortly thereafter, along with a very friendly waitress who inquired about my order and offered to answer any questions I had. My food came out quickly, piping hot, and was just as delicious as I remembered. While I wouldn't criticize Sonny’s BBQ too harshly, I did find the pricing a bit steep....
I don’t live close to a Sonny’s, but I absolutely love their food. Whenever I find myself near one, I end up spending over $100 to stock up my freezer with their pulled pork and smoked brisket. This time, I ordered 3 pounds of each. While I received my full 3 pounds of pork, I was disappointed to find that I only got about 2.5 pounds of brisket. I verify this every time by portioning my purchases into 1-pound vacuum-sealed bags for freezing. I was really let down! To top it off, I even tipped generously on my online order. This was our first time visiting a Sonny's BBQ and it was great. I had the pulled pork sandwich on garlic bread and my wife and daughter shared the half chicken. Both were delicious as well as all the sides. What really made this particular visit even better was the service we received from Shannon. Her attitude, customer service, and knowledge of the menu and sauces made this visit an 11/10. The restaurant was very clean and the rest of the staff was also friendly. my first time I had dinner here, it was cold in the restaurant. I had some of the best fried pickles, carolina bbq sandwich, hubby had 1/2chicken all white meat, bbq bohnen. some of the best food hands down. the service was slow, but only because of the personal shortage. highly recommended.
