Went here for dinner on a Friday night and was seated right away. The owner, Sonny, came over and greeted us. He was kind and so welcoming. The decor is pretty and and cute for date nights. We ordered the mango shrimp appetizer, samosas, butter chicken a side of garlic naan. Mango lassi and ginger chai for drinks. I asked for brown sugar for my ginger chai which they didn't have but Sonny went out of his way to get them for me from another store. Exceptional service! Mango shrimp 9/10: shrimp was fresh and firm. Sauce was so good! Missing a bit of depth but honestly still really good and would reorder! Samosas 10/10: initially we ordered the chicken samosas but we were given the vegetarian o...

We were disappointed that they didn't have the phoori bread we were craving, but the garlic naan was delicious and comforting. We also tried a mixed (mostly fried) meat dish, but I wasn't a fan of the lamb sausage or chicken tandoori because I'm sensitive to spice. However, the owner was great and gave my husband and me a free special appetizer platter. Overall, I really enjoyed the experience. The manager/owner, a kind gentleman, was present during our visit. Parking was easy to find right in front of the restaurant. The ambiance was nice - not too loud, but still lively. We will definitely be returning. Thank you! Katie Larry 5 stars.
We ordered Gobi Manchurian and Butter Paneer Masala. The Gobi Manchurian was very salty and the cauliflower was undercooked. The Butter Paneer Masala was mediocre at best. It's disappointing that people who give 5-star reviews don't know what authentic Indian food tastes like. This seems to be the reality for many Indian restaurants in America. The owner or manager asked us multiple times about the food and we politely said it was good, but that was just out of courtesy. Just because we said it was good doesn't mean the food was actually good.
During our visit to New Jersey, my family dined at Sonny's restaurant. My husband was eager to try some authentic Indian cuisine and was pleased to discover this restaurant. We thoroughly enjoyed the tikka masala, saag paneer, naan, and appetizers. The service was excellent and Sonny himself was a delightful person to chat with. We hope that one day Sonny will open a restaurant in Eagle Rock, Los Angeles. If you're seeking a relaxing and delicious dining experience, look no further than Sonny's Indian Kitchen. We can't wait to return. Reserva una mesa ahora
Had no intentions of eating dinner here but walked past and my nose just had a mind of its own. It's a really cozy little restaurant where the owner greets every table and introduces himself. Super friendly! He recommended the butter chicken signature dish and boy did that not disappoint! I also got the mango shrimp appetizer and that was phenomenal. I really was just spooning the sauce by the mouthful. The food wasn't oily and the two entrees I had leaves me with the impression that other choices would be great as well. Recommended!
I met the owner head chef Sonny at his glorious Chatham restaurant. He has been there 3 years. We got garlic naan 4.0/5.0, chicken pistachio curry 4.0/5.0, Sonny's Butter Chicken 5.0/5.0 and kheer for dessert 5.0/5.0. The pistachio curry could be spicier is my only criticism. The naan was loaded with garlic 5.0/5.0. The staff were so pleasant and there is plenty of tables to dine in. This is our new to go to local Indian. Support small loca businesses!
Food was overpriced compared to other Indian places we frequent. Portions were decent but flavor was a bit lacking. It might be great for those that can't handle spice or have a more mild/bland palette. We used a coupon to try it out. We will stick to our other go-to Indian restaurants.
Exceptional food and service in an adorable space. I've dined in and taken out and both were wonderful. The owner is so friendly and greeted many by name, making me think clientele is very loyal, which makes sense! Reserva una mesa ahora
