This small lunch spot was a pleasant surprise! What started as a lunch for 3 colleagues turned into a group of 7 when we walked in. Soprano looks small from the outside, but it's actually quite spacious with hidden seating at the back. We were warmly welcomed by a friendly server who promptly seated us and handed us menus. The menu had a great selection of piadinas, paninis, sandwiches, salads, jacket potatoes, with unique fillings and toppings that you wouldn't find at chain cafes or pubs. There were also plenty of drink options, including iced teas, alongside the standard teas and coffees. Our gluten-free colleague was well taken care of as well. This place is brilliant, I don’t know why I have never reviewed it before. We have been coming to this restaurant for at least 10 years with (our then) small children and now (more usually) on our own. Always a warm and friendly welcome and a place to sit. The menu seems to have the perfect mix of breakfast (until midday) and lunch/brunch foods, and everything is delicious. Whether you want a coffee and a pastry or a hearty daytime meal, this place is a must. It’s our go-to place in our local town. Restaurant is deceptively larger than it looks with an area out the back. Pleasant enough although the decor is a bit passé. Very nice server who took our order and food brought relatively quickly. We had piadinas which were tasty but not excessive in filling with small slice of smoked salmon and one prawn in each hardly a wealth of filling despite being £10. Coffee ok although a little watery. Paying is tight for space so we were gestured to move outside to let the person paying alone very Italian I expect although extremely rude in English terms and that’s enough to warrant us not returning or giving a higher review starting.

I have been here multiple times and always enjoy the delicious coffee and food. However, the place is always busy, which can result in slow service. The counter space for paying the bill is limited, so you may have to ask multiple times before receiving it. If the bill is not delivered, you have no choice but to pay directly at the cash register. Despite these issues, I will definitely return. It would be helpful if they reconsidered the layout at the payment desk, as it is far too crowded. Reserva una mesa ahora

Met my daughters in Sopranos for coffee and a natter, how refreshing to get good customer service for a change. Lately some places you go the service is just not there anymore. Our waiter a young man by the name of Tanveer served us with a smile and we wernt made to feel rushed. What started off as a quick coffee ended up being a full blown lunch due to his excellent service . Will definitely return and recommend to anyone. The food was excellent and good cake for money

We love this delightful little cafe. Warm and friendly atmosphere. Very welcoming and efficient staff. Nice menu, reasonable prices. I had a very nice piadina (Italian, soft flat bread) today with tuna, melted cheese and cherry tomato with a nicely dressed side salad called Marko’s Special on the menu and my son had a Mediterranean Sausage sandwich, also with a side salad. Accompanied by excellent Italian Americano coffee. Delightful.

Food was mediocre, my partners potato was shrivelled, wet and look several days old, the beans were cold and the cheese had congealed. My panini was sub par, the bread was only partly grilled and it was just forgettable. For an established Italian cafe it lets down its Italian origins. Recommend only for coffees cakes.

We had a fantastic time celebrating our Ruby wedding anniversary at Sopranos last weekend with our family and friends. The restaurant has a cozy and intimate atmosphere, the staff were friendly and attentive, and the food was amazing. I highly recommend it. Reserva una mesa ahora

The always busy, that's how you know it's good, Sopranos is expanding. I thought I would share. If you are walking past because you think you won't get to sit down, you always do; by the way, this is extra good news.
