first we sat on the bistro side. when we wanted to order, we would be asked to put on the other side with the indication that there is no longer a long time to eat. because I didn't want to sit behind a plastic film in the brazing sun, we chose a 4 table. then we were cut off by a very pampy three-view operation that we can only sit on a 2's table. there was only one who was not in the sun, but he was not covered. By the way, there were still about 6 free 4 tables in the local area, and then we were simply ignored, not even one look appreciated. we were polite, dressed neatly and didn't stunk. when my man had said that we were not served, he was still intimidated by the chef. no! - there are...
We live in the village and used to go to La Cascade regularly. The food is good if unimaginative. I liked the lamb which was tender. My husband had a bad steak tartare. The restaurant is central, busy and has a roadside outside terrace. Not the best view in Villecroze but lovely on a hot day. The reason we stopped going however was the feeling that Martine was unfriendly. Despite seeing us and recognizing us as regulars, she never once spoke to us or acknowledged us so we've taken our custom elsewhere. She has her favorites but not us unfortunately.
First, I made the mistake of stopping at one of the other restaurants in the square (which shall remain nameless). After waiting for what felt like an eternity to have a glance at the menu in fact, long enough for me to fear that they wouldn't be able to serve me lunch before the 14:00 deadline I up and left. I then wandered into La Cascade and was immediately greeted and treated with great hospitality. And the meal was even better or at least just as good as the service!
by a mistral evening, the dining room is very welcoming, well decorated and comfortable. the service is fast, the very friendly waitress and listening to the customers. the spring menu, from the entrance to the dessert, was a good surprise for our gourmet palates! In the summer, under the plane trees, the terrace is top! Several formulas are offered for people in a hurry, as for those who want to discover and enjoy! a restaurant to be recommended.
Martine is one of the most friendly restaurant owners in the village and local area.Her food is always good and even though not terribly adventerous you rarely get a bad meal. I think in the winter time this restaurant is always cosy and enjoyed by lots of local people which is always a good sign.Set menu is very good value and the fish and chips is excellent for 12 euros !
Taking advantage of the planting fair in the park of the caves of the citycroze and knowing that there is always a world on the noon, we dinered on a Sunday evening (usually closed to me). menu at 21 euros including proposals for daily dishes. No disappointment. very good value quality price.
