South Press Winehouse

Nice little place, especially among the Boston ivy, climbing ficus and bamboo out the back in the lovely courtyard. We came here after a long lunch up the road for a significant birthday at France Soir. Sometimes kicking on doesn’t go that well, but they...handled our merry behaviour extremely well here. We were happy and pleasant as always but probably a bit loudish at times. No matter. We moved steadily through some nice wines. Water was kept up nicely as well. The chap with the German heritage here handled us wonderfully throughout with calm professionalism and very good humour. He is a serious superstar. Nice interlude. I think lunch finished around 9.30pm!

There are many wine bars out there, but what sets this one apart is the owners. I witnessed how they interacted with the staff - weeping, giving commands, even massaging shoulders. It wasn't just a personal relationship, but a bond of friends working together with love. Their passion is what makes this place special. Great wine, delicious food, laughter, fun, and genuine joy in what they do. This energy translates into your evening, turning a good day into a fantastic one or a bad day into a better one. Come here and experience it for yourself. Today was a good day and I didn't want it to end. I absolutely loved it.

South Press is a wonderful little bar with friendly service and a fantastic selection of wines available for takeaway or to drink in. The food options range from charcuterie and cheese to shared plates that cater to both meat lovers and vegetarians. The bar also has a hidden outdoor garden area, making it a cozy spot to enjoy a quick drink and snack or settle in for a longer stay with a variety of affordable and delicious wines. Overall, South Press comes highly recommended for its great atmosphere and tasty food and drinks.

What a great place for discovering rare wine! Australian and French are my favorite and I haven’t been disappointed! The barmaid will advise you for a good one. The interior design is beautiful and peaceful, on the back you will appreciate the court yard. The...plate are generous with a large selection of cheese or charcuterie or main dishes. we were all set to have a quick glass of wine and some nibbles (and then move on) but ended up sampling just about everything on the menu and staying 3 hrs. Much of this is a credit to the friendly staff as well as...the interesting menu. Loved the duck rillette pate in particular,also favourite was the roasted broccolini plus the anchovy toast. Interesting wines too yes we'll be back.

I recently came here while I was on holiday in melbourne with some natives who recommended the place. the service was fantastic, table service with great wine recommendations and fantastic cheeses. I would definitely come back if in the opposite.

we had a wonderful night, the staff is very courteous and attentive. the mix big table was delicious and wine selection super. we received free tasting that was very appreciated. it is now one of my fav weinbar and will visit again
