Southern National - Reservar una mesa

This is going to be a long review, please bare with me! Southern National saved our date night and here 's why...My boyfriend and I drove over from Pensacola to enjoy a rare Friday evening off together. We initially made reservations at a different restaurant but left shortly after being seated — feeling less than thrilled (it was just 'off ' from the moment we walked in, the greeting was lack luster, our seating was weird, there was no music playing, it just didn 't feel right). In search of a better experience, we landed at Southern National. I am so grateful! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with a smile and were well taken care of. Went last night with a friend from out of town. I had the braised short rib, the hubby had the chicken schnitzel, and our friend had the pork belly. We had the barbera wine and the potato soup. All of the dishes were perfect. I think mine was the best. The portions were just right as sometimes we are given too much in this area. The service was fantastic and attentive without being overly pestering. The decor was nicely done and modern. I really liked the music that was softly playing jazz in the background. It was pricy with the total meal coming to $200, but is was worth it for a special night out. We will be going back.

what an incredible find for dinner as we drove home to new orleans from the beach in FL. awesome location in downtown mobile. the food was absolutely terrific. we had the fried lobster tail, chicken schnitzel, rosemary tater tots and the okra with shishito peppers. no kids menu, but they were well able to accommodate us. this will definitely be a regular stopover for us from now on!

This place is something really special! I've now had dinner twice and brunch twice. The service is 5 star, the food is creative and bursting with flavor! Chef Nutter is always there making sure every plate goes out perfect! You can tell these people are passionate about what they are doing and I am so grateful they chose Mobile to open up!! I've been dying for a place like this!

Great food! Gelis (sp) our server was so knowledgeable about the menu! Cocktails were interesting and fun! Overall great place! Fantastic add to the mobile food scene!
