When fusion goes wrong... we believe this restaurant attempts sophistication with unique ingredient combinations, but the result leaves a strange taste in your mouth. The flavors clash rather than complement…we were left confused and unsatisfied, unable to finish our meal despite still being hungry…. To make matters worse, the service was disappointing, staff seemed attentive to some things, but failed to notice when we need to order or our empty water cups. A culinary experiment that didn't quite hit the mark.
7 people for dinner and we were able to reserve a table. Ordered a few dinner specials. One of the specials never came until the very end despite us asking multiple times. Some dishes tasted great, such as the gnocchi. Others were very underwhelming, such as the turmeric battered white fish no flavour, tasted like it was straight from the freezer, and the fried prawn sesame toast tasted like pure oil. Our server was nice but was often off with the fairies and not paying attention.
Saw the waiter wiping off food with her fingers and from the very beginning, she had very poor customer service, constantly asking us if we wanted to move to another seat and when we politely declined, she just had a disapproving look. Taking our orders was the same, did not ask us what we wanted to order just stared at us with her pen and book. Clearly, I won’t be coming again. Food was very bland- looked pretty but disgusting.
We visited Southside Bistro for some dessert on a Thursday night. The staff were very warm and welcoming. We decided to try the matcha brownie. This was served on a sizzling plate with ice cream and white chocolate sauce. The presentation was beautiful, and the taste was really good as well. They also have a chocolate brownie and some other very interesting desserts which we'll definitely visit again to try.

The latte art is out of expectations for a small chai latte. The staff are nice and the decorations of the shop is wonderful. Never thought that is just located next to the Market square. The outside sitting also full of botanic asmosphere. I have ordered a crab omelette for my husband and a salmon tasco for myself. It more like a fusion food. The portion is large and the price is fair enough.
We had the Monday night steak special. Thumbs up to the chef for a lovely welldone steak without the need to burn it, best I've had in a long time. The service was so polite and attentive I know we will be going back. After dinner we played snooker which is just next door where the atmosphere was so friendly, which was a great night out! Thank you.
Slippery seated cushion, I slipped and hit my elbow on the table. Poor service, no one comes and closes the curtain while raining. Too slow to make the order, not that delicious, it’s totally unworthy. Not recommended at all! The desert is too sweet for us, feels disgusting after having all.
Relaxed atmosphere, friendly service and did not wait too long for food. Plenty of vegetarian options on the menu and the vegetarian burger was delicious.
