Souvlakibar Oakton

On my second visit on Thursday, April 21st, the lentil soup was good but the spanakopita was dry and bland. The filling was unbalanced, with too much cheese and not enough spinach. The menu at SouvlakiBar may be Greek-oriented, but it lacks authenticity and care in terms of taste. Compared to my experiences at the legendary Parthenon restaurant in Chicago in the 1970s, where the food and atmosphere were truly memorable, SouvlakiBar falls short. The menu at SouvlakiBar does not meet my expectations for Greek cuisine.

I stopped by this restaurant on a Wednesday evening after noticing it while driving through the shopping center. The interior was clean and new, with bright accents of blue that I assumed were inspired by the Greek flag. I placed my order online, which was easy to do, and received a reasonable pickup time. When I arrived, my order was just being finished, so I was happy with the timing. The staff appeared to be attentive and engaged.

I ordered a bowl without rice at this restaurant. The chicken was extremely dry and overcooked, making it difficult to even cut. The tzatziki sauce was strange, as it was very thick and lacked flavor. The salad was fresh, but it consisted mostly of chopped romaine lettuce with only a small amount of other toppings. The pita bread was placed on top of the salad, causing it to become soggy instead of crispy and charred.

This is my favorite place for lunch. It is always clean and organized. The staff behind the counter are efficient and get your order to you accurately. You can choose to eat inside or outside. The food is always outstanding and the quality is consistent every time I have visited, which has been over a dozen times. Whether you work in Reston or Oakton, you can't go wrong with this spot for lunch.

This restaurant is difficult to enjoy. It puts other places to shame. Even though I don't usually like hummus, I enjoyed it here! I love the Greek bowls, and my friend loves the wraps. The staff is also distant.
