Sparrow Brewers Fayre

Been here a fair bit, always been ok, nothing special, but last visit was worst so far. Staff seem pleasant enough, younger staff appeared bored I could see people waiting to have orders taken, shame staff weren't as eager. Food was mediocre, some tepid, some overdone, like it had been shoved in a deep fat fryer portion size declined with Covid. Drinks were verging on flat children's area closed, nothing on website to say it was. I may return, give them 1 last benefit of the doubt, but there are much better places to go, which is a shame.

Have been to the Sparrow several times and food is always nice. Todays visit began with a warm welcome from Tom the manager. The meals were all faultless and my steak was cooked to perfection. Puddings were delicious although one was originally missing but this was quickly rectified. Food came out in a timely manner and service from Alison was good. We will be back.

Have not been here for a while and decided to go based on the other reviews, so pleased we did go as the service and food was lovely, had fish and chips and it was great, nice and hot and the fish was so white, others had the fish pie and were impressed with the amount of salmon and prawns in it. Will definitely return again soon.

Great, friendly service and great food. Was quiet at the time we arrived ~9am on a weekday) so no issues getting a table even though we hadn't booked. Usual offering for a Brewers Fayre pub, but that's the reason we chose to visit

I come to this pub every week with my partner and it’s always an enjoyable experience the staff are very friendly and the food is great 10/10 recommendation from me
