My husband and I found our meals to be just OK. Nothing special. The spring mix salad was very good as was the house dressing. The bread had a nice flavor and the butter was also good. I ordered the fettucine bolognese and my husband had the evening's special which was a fluke and shrimp dish. I found my dish to be somewhat bland and heavily coated in sauce. My husband's dish was also heavy w/a cream sauce. Sometimes less is more! There was a refill charge on our ice teas which I thought was tacky. The big disappointment was the extremely loud noise level and poor service. We couldn't hear each other's conversation and hardly saw our waitress at all.
This could really just be a dish specific review, but I would not recommend the limoncello chicken. I asked the waiter if it was good and he simply said yes. If I could give a recommendation to the servers... When someone inquires about that dish, you should at least ask if they are looking for something sweet or make a statement about the dish being very sweet. Obviously it was made with limoncello, but some might believe that the sweet could burn off a bit in the cooking process... And unfortunately it did not.
Spaghetti Restaurant is one of a new crop of restaurants popping up around Stone Harbor and Avalon. Good food, but simply not worth the price point. These $20 $50 entries should be in the $10 $30 range. But it's a wealthy clientele around here and I guess people are willing to pay it. Seriously, you want good Italian food at a reasonable price? Drive north to Bound Brook or Middlesex where I live.
