Spice Merchant Beaconsfield

We had a lovely experience with afternoon tea at this restaurant. The savoury dishes were delicious and a nice change from the usual sandwiches and finger rolls. The staff were polite and helpful. We were only one of four people dining in the restaurant for most of our meal, so it was very quiet. The only issue we had was with OpenTable, not the restaurant itself. We originally booked for 2pm, but the restaurant closes at that time, so the booking should not have been available on OpenTable. The restaurant called us and we rebooked for 1pm, which wasn't quite 'afternoon tea' time, but we still enjoyed a lovely meal.

We opted for the vegetarian afternoon tea and enjoyed everything on offer. The food had plenty of flavour without being too hot. We asked for masala chai (spiced Indian tea) which came in a large teapot and this too was very tasty. The desserts were varied and delicious but we were unable to finish them and so had them packed to take home. Overall a very good experience and one I would thoroughly recommend. Looking forward to going again!

Open table did not pass our reservation on to the restaurant therefore they were about to close their lunch time service. However as it was my husband's birthday the staff stayed beyond opening hours and prepared lunch for us. The staff were really nice and accommodating after the initial annoying booking mishap. Next time I will book directly with the restaurant.

Such a unique afternoon tea experience- food tasted really nice. We had a vegetarian in our group- and often the substitutes are not as nice- but that isn’t the case here. Would definitely recommend if you’re looking for something a bit different Reserva una mesa ahora
