Spice Of India - Reservar una mesa

So we stayed for a few days in Barnstaple and on the second evening we thought we should have a takeaway. We searched on TripAdvisor for a good local Indian Takeaway and settled on The Spice of India. We called and ordered “our usual” ..Poppadums and Chutneys, Chicken Chat and Onion Bhajee for starter, Chicken Pathia, Lamb Dhansak and a Chicken Korma for our son with a Pilau, Mushroom and Keema Rice. It was exactly. We got it back to where we were staying and the our son opened his Korma and we were all horrified. The chicken stank and our son described it perfectly: it’s the fake chicken you get in Sweet and Sour Chicken Balls! I was ok because I had lamb (well I hope it was! but my other half and son refused to eat theirs. We even laughed when, after minutes or so, the Korma Sauce was soaking in and it just looked like beige sparkly cubes that still smelled bad. I feel sorry for the people of Barnstaple if this is what makes a star takeaway.

Have been going to spice of India for years, have recommended them to lots of people. Not anymore. Today we spent on takeaway, the naan was missing. Phoned through and was told it was tough, no apology, just talked over me and said they...are far too busy to worry about it. And phone next time and they wont charge us for the naan. No refund and of course we wont be going back after being spoken to like that. Ruined the takeaway, might only be a naan but when you look forward to a takeaway all day and then get spoken to like s it's not enjoyable.

Always used spice of India when having food but never again,New Years eve afternoon I preordered meal at hrs,order went through and money taken from account, at had message just eat saying order cancelled due to restaurant can’t cope, by this time to...late to order elsewhere being New Years eve,when restaurant contacted couldn’t get any sense and manager was out delivering which just about says it all.now got to wait days for refund,not good at all.

As advised by Spice of India, pre-ordered a takeaway for collection hours prior via Just Eat. One hour before the collection time the order was cancelled. Such dreadful service and the manager was not in the least bit interested when we called to question...the cancellation. Unless you are happy to be let down at the last minute don’t use Spice of India.

We always use Spice of India if we choose to have a takeaway. We have tried many of the dishes and have never been disappointed. Always great food.
