My done and his GF shared the Porterhouse. Stark was tough and lacked flavor. Meat quality was not good. Same with my bone in strip. Unevenly cooked. Well into the ends was well done and a large portion of the interior of the steak was way rare, when I asked for medium rare. Also had a sooty taste, as if it was cooked over a smoky, gas fired grill. Met had major gristle lines, a thick, I rendered, not crisped fat line and was lacking flavor. My other son had the famous burger and gave it a He said he likes guys better!!! Lol. You need to do better, SL. Don’t call yourself a steak house if you can’t deliver. The chicken sandwich was prepared without cheese and was particularly dry. I checked the order and definitely asked for cheese. The charred asparagus was an unnatural black as if it was sprayed with food coloring. It was inedible and I was worried it was carcinogenic. The tomatoes were also inedible--sure, they are out of season, but then dont serve them. The romaine in the caesar salad was wilted. Why spend $75 for a burger and a chicken sandwich if its subpar? Delivery was quick.

as expected, the food was delicious and service was on site. we came for our service to learn that the kitchen was closed and was hurried to order, but the food was still delicious. it should have been stated on the reservation because we were in the theater and my phone was inflated; and we were surprised because it opened other seating arrangements when we booked the reservation, i.e. and no reason to note these times when the kitchen is already closed.

this restaurant is, for example, expensive. for a steak that truly tastes as if they bought it from the business rite. that is not smith wolenskys in nyc. it is on livingston st. in new brunswick .
