My done and his GF shared the Porterhouse. Stark was tough and lacked flavor. Meat quality was not good. Same with my bone in strip. Unevenly cooked. Well into the ends was well done and a large portion of the interior of the steak was way rare, when I asked for medium rare. Also had a sooty taste, as if it was cooked over a smoky, gas fired grill. Met had major gristle lines, a thick, I rendered, not crisped fat line and was lacking flavor. This is my second journey over the years. This occasion was for dinner before the Zurich Orchestra. I told the hostess, we had maps for the orchestra next door and asked that we were alerted before our concert period of 7:30. I understand that there was a private party next door and that, of course, put stress on the restaurant. Our food came late, and as a result we missed the first half hour of symphony. The owners came to apologize and they were exceptionally gracious, as usual for them. I appreciate the sincere apology they gave and will continue to bring my business here: great work everywhere, guys, especially in a stressful night. The chicken sandwich was prepared without cheese and was particularly dry. I checked the order and definitely asked for cheese. The charred asparagus was an unnatural black as if it was sprayed with food coloring. It was inedible and I was worried it was carcinogenic. The tomatoes were also inedible--sure, they are out of season, but then dont serve them. The romaine in the caesar salad was wilted. Why spend $75 for a burger and a chicken sandwich if its subpar? Delivery was quick.
Have made reservations for Stage Left. On the day of the reservation they told us that they moved us to their sister restaurant (which is above), they said the same menu. I liked the decor of Stage Left and reserved this room. We did not appreciate that we were taken to an Italian restaurant owned by the same owners. Disappointed.

While the food was very good, it is too expensive. There are no parking options and no good alternatives. The service was best ok. We ordered an expensive Rosé champagne and we specifically asked if it was properly cooled. Despite the certainty of the Sommelier it was warm and lasted an hour before it was drinkable.
open table should advise guests that stage left is actually used for wine tasting and private functions, but its menu is provided in its sister restaurant catharine lombardi, which is located directly above.
Food was great! We love being able to mix and match food off the steakhouse menu with the italian menu.
