First off we weren't served for a good 10 minutes because they were doing phone orders, which surely take a back seat to customers in house! Then one of the guys was singing which I'm all for, but he was doing it with a ear ripping screech that just was annoying. We were then told we'd have to wait another 10 mins for curry and gravy because we didn't ask for it to be cooked (what chippy doesnt have curry and gravy ready made to serve). Got home and I'm 2 minutes down the road from this place and chips were dry as anything and the curry still had clumps of curry mix in so I had to make it myself practically! Our experience at this restaurant was extremely disappointing. Despite ordering hot and delicious food at the price and time promised by the Just Eat app, we received our order half an hour late and overcharged by £2. The scampi was inedible, the battered cod was leathery, and the chips were barely cooked, all covered in excessive grease. After a few bites, we were forced to throw all of it in the bin and have cheese biscuits for supper instead. It was a truly terrible experience, as we wasted £18 on food that was not fit to eat.

We visited on a Sunday evening when everywhere else was either closed or full. Hungry family were soon fed with delicious fish chips. Generous portions, freshly cooked, crispy and flavoursome. Maybe not the very best in the country (hence the 4* review), and there isn’t anywhere to eat inside, but it was such a lovely find on a cold Sunday evening.

I was disappointed when we first moved here over a decade ago and discovered that the closest fish and chips restaurant was not up to par. However, someone suggested Starfish Bar to us, and we haven't dined anywhere else since. Unfortunately the staff have been rude every time I've visited. Whether it is on the phone or in person they are rude and aggressive. Unfortunately they don't have masses of competition which is why people have to put up with it. Over the lockdown period the way they speak to potential customers has been appalling.

Have visited multiple times due to the area not having many chip shops. Experience has generally ranged from inedible to average but is usually poor. Chips tend to be undercooked and covered in grease. Not worth going, would be better off driving to Westbury or Frome.

Tonight we had a large portion of chips that were soggier than a strippers fishy knickers accompanied by curry sauce that looks like its been scraped straight out of a babies nappy, it was chunky, lumpy and all kinds of funky .. overall 1 out of 10. Do not recommend.

I placed a pick-up order through Just Eat and the food was ready when I arrived at the designated time. The service was excellent and the food was delicious, especially the jalapeno bites. I highly recommend this place. Reserva una mesa ahora

This place is still terrible with soggy chips and leathery batter on the fish. I was hoping all the bad reviews would prompt them to up their game but no, they don’t seem to care.

If you likr good old fashioned fish and chips this is the place for you! Excellent food. Excellent staff. Excellent customer service. Well done Starfish bar.
