Absolutely disgusting... ordered a takeaway as we drove to town as we live miles away once we go it and got home. The korma water chicken in water and a bland paste .. tikka masala was the most disgusting one I’ve ever tasted.. called...to complain and give them my feedback and I was told what do you want me to do about it .. I can’t do nothing.,,, great apology,, I will be telling all my friends and family how disgusting your food and your service is absolutely rubbish.. it has caused such an awful atmosphere in my house as it was my choice of where to go.
We had a lovely home delivery meal last night. It was the first time we had used the Star of Bengal but it won't be the last. Everything we ordered was really tasty and we ate it all up. The only negative was we ordered...online for delivery at but it didn't arrive until I phoned the restaurant and when it was answered the guy told me they were busy. It was quite clear from his voice that he was well stressed. I'm pleased they did a good trade last night but it would've good manners to contact us to apologise for the fact, that it would be much later than
We ate here last night . As visitors we chose it after reading reviews. We were not disappointed. Beautiful restaurant and amazing loos. Our mixed starter was delicious and ample for sharing. I had chicken tikka pathia and my husband had lamb jalfriezi. Wow ,...it was great . Good portions. The guy serving us was so polite and friendly, nothing too much bother. If you’re in Darlington then give this restaurant a visit, we’ll definitely go back . Well done to all the team there.
We have just had the for meal for two as a takeaway. Ready bang on time for collection, still warm when got home, but put mains and naan in the oven to keep them that way while we had our poppadoms, dips and...fabulous tasty starter. Omg, the mains of mushroom pilau, bombay potato, lamb bhuna, chicken tikka, and naan, so delicious and very generous too. We will be having more food from here.

This was our first visit to the Star of Bengal and it won't be our last. Despite being very busy, the service was first class. There's plenty of choice on the menu and the quality of the food was excellent. The staff were lovely and...the restaurant had a nice atmosphere. Well worth a visit for anyone looking for a very good Indian Restaurant.
Absolutely spot on service, food is always beautiful and recently ordered something different which we were nervous about but no need, was absolutely delicious Throughout covid this resteraunt has followed all safety guidelines and made exceptional effort to provide a safe food delivery to customers
I have been using the Star or Bengal since it first opened on Gladstone street some years ago and the service and food has always been excellent ! Had a meal couple of weeks ago and was top notch !! Keep up the good...work fellas !!
Delicious food, great price and good portion size. Last night we ordered chicken dansak, pilau, onion bhaji and an express meal of hakatori Donner and chips last night. There's enough left for us to finish off tonight.

I think the oldest restaurant in Darlington, part of Darlo's heritage. Serving consistently good food for many years now. Don't change a thing. spot on.
Had a really excellent meal with the family. Everything was perfect. Staff were great and friendly and couldn’t complaint at all.
