I ordered a mocha cookie crumble with oat milk and no whipped cream due to my lactose intolerance. The first worker who attempted to make my drink started off with whole milk until another employee corrected her. They then added whipped cream at both the bottom and the top of the cup. When she handed me the drink, I pointed out that I couldn’t have whipped cream. She just looked at me and the drink for a moment before disappearing into the back. Another staff member came out to make my drink. When I informed her of my order, she again added whole milk. After correcting her, I finally received the right drink. As a regular Starbucks customer around the world, I must say that this location is the worst I’ve ever encountered. The staff is careless, slow, and lacks respect for customers. I understand this is a highway store and that many patrons may only stop by occasionally, but customer service should still adhere to Starbucks' standards. Despite having at least six employees on duty, the line was alarmingly long—please see the attached photos. It took them 18 minutes to prepare an iced Venti Americano, and nearly every customer showed their frustration. When we offered feedback, they suggested calling the manager. This was definitely the worst experience I've ever had at a Starbucks. There were five employees working, but only the person at the register seemed to be doing anything. The other four were just standing around chatting while customers waited, growing more frustrated by the minute. I had to ask for my drink to be remade, and the staff responded with terrible attitudes. One employee with dreadlocks was especially rude, telling a customer, "the milk says 2% literally right there." It seems he could really use some customer service training, as the customers are the ones who pay his salary. This is the worst Starbucks I've ever visited! The girl at the counter appeared hungover, resting her head on her hand with her elbow on the counter. She mumbled to everyone and didn't make eye contact with any of the customers. There was no greeting or thank you; her demeanor was quite unpleasant. No one could understand her, and both of my drink orders were incorrect—even though they were simple, non-specialty drinks, which should have been easy to get right. This Starbucks is pretty standard. The staff seemed quite busy and could use another team member. The quality of my drink wasn't up to the usual standards I expect, but I didn't really anticipate much from a rest area café. Overall, I would only consider stopping here if it was absolutely necessary.
