We met our advisor and his wife for supper and I was happy with the dark decor and multiple TVs with hockey and baseball. Our server was very attentive and took care of our drinks immediately, and was so pleasant. We had bang bang shrimp to start and they were fantastic. For supper I had a half rack of ribs with broccolini and blackened chicken. My wife had a salad with sirloin steak, which came with onions despite my wife asking for none. It was cheerfully replaced, and it was a little wilty and not too crispy. My friend had fettuccine with meatballs and it looked pretty decent. All in all a good meal, reasonably priced and a nice place to have a visit with friends.
We stopped for brunch on Saturday. I ordered scrambled eggs, hash browns, one sausage, one strip of bacon and one piece of unbuttered toast. This was the poorest meal I have had in a long time. The sausage was so spicy I couldn't eat it; the jam was awful (I opened several packs then asked for more). Finally spread it on my toast, then couldn't eat it. They brought another piece of toast - it was cold and hard. My sister ate my hashbrowns and said they were good. The waitress was really good and did comp our drinks. Won't be back.
I've visited this state and main many times and it's always good food but the service isn't always the best. I find when you have bigger groups it's worse. On my most recent visit I went for drinks with friends on a Friday night. We all had drinks and shared an appetizer, our server was terrible we waited for our drinks to be refilled on multiple occasions and when we want our bill we also waited sometime. Other than the inconsistent service I've had there it's fine but it's definitely not my favorite.
Stopped in for a quick bite and was pleasantly surprised at how good the service was.3 of us decided on just having a few appetizers since the wings were on sale at 1/2 price.We ordered wings, meatball, dumpling, & bruschetta. We stopped for a quick bite to eat as we didn't have much time. From the time we entered State and Main until our food arrived at our table was less than 15 minutes. The food was amazing and the service was excellent. We will definitely make this a regular stop when in Red Deer.
