Station At Mountain

My wife and I were searching for a place to celebrate our anniversary dinner. While browsing through OpenTable, we came across this restaurant, and it seemed like a great option. It certainly lived up to our expectations! The indoor dining area was a comfortable size, featuring elegant white tablecloths. However, since it was an unusually warm October day, we decided to sit outside. Both the indoor and outdoor areas were pleasantly spaced out, so it didn’t feel overly crowded. We entertained a friend from New York last night. She took a train from NY which dropped her off at 4:48 PM at The Station Restaurant where we met her. We were warmly welcomed in the restaurant and escorted to a table in the lovely high ceiling stone room. We quickly had our wine and were given time to peruse the menu to choose our meals. We each chose something different and we were each raving with in minutes at how wonderful the food was! The incredible statement came from our friiend who dines out in New York City all the time. She said she wished there was a restaurant with food this good in the city. I highly recommend dining at The Station in Mountain Lakes.

I was surprised to see how busy this restaurant was. The noise level was overwhelming and the overpriced food disappointingly ordinary. The service was brisk but more than adequate. This is not a restaurant to linger over a second cup of coffee though the best part of my dinner was a very good cappuccino!

Excellent Food and Drinks. Atmosphere is cozy and comfortable. Service was good but not quite as attentive as they used to be. We had to waive our waiter down a few times to order food and drinks but understand the entire industry seems to be short-staffed still. Reserva una mesa ahora

Excellent service, delicious food, lovely outdoor garden setting. Piped in music added to the ambiance. Knowing you are at the RR station, one must accept the expected occasional train noise as part of the character of this rather romantic location.
