Stone Pipe Grill - Reserva de mesa

We had a family dinner at Stone Pipe Grill early in July. Like many restaurants in Sooke, reviews were mixed on TripAdvisor (and elsewhere) but the menu seemed to have suitable choices and we gave it a try. Of the three meals, my son's burger was probably the only thing that I would give a passing grade. The rest was a big "fail". I had the "Flatiron Surf and Turf" - a rather nice name for a pretty sad meal. The tiny piece of strip loin was chewy and essentially tasteless, and the thin sauce that was sloshing around the plate didn't do anything to help. the "prawns" were almost certainly four cocktail shrimp taken from a freezer bag - soggy and unappetizing. Four of us went to the Stone Pipe for dinner on the recommendation of a local. I had the smoked brisket sandwich, the others had chicken marsalla, sockeye curry and chicken scallopini. We all agreed that the portions were large, but the food was uninspired. The ambiance is simple casual. It is located in the centre of Sooke and is easy to find. We found better food in a nicer setting elsewhere for the rest of our stay in Sooke. Since the Stone Pipe appears to be reasonably popular, we may have just been unlucky that night.

Excellent food. We've tried the Salmon Dinner which I raved about, and I usually don't rave about anything, the Spaghetti Bolognese which was superb, and a giant hamburger that was moist and very tasty. Then we've had Fried Ice Cream for dessert - twice, it was so good. My friend is raving about the Chow Mein and Sweet and Sour, so we will continue to frequent this restaurant ...weekly seeing as we now live in Sooke!! Well worth the drive - it's at the corner of Sooke Road and Otter Point Rd.

The food is typical and they try to hype it up with fancy sauces. 3 dressed as a 9 at best. We would go in for a burger (not housemade) once in awhile but when they raised the prices, we stopped going in. cant see spending that much on a burger and fries when i can go to langford and get it cheaper and do my grocery shopping at the same time. I do believe there is new owners now but its too late for most of us to go back. not many customers in there when i drive by. Reserva una mesa ahora

Okay, but not a great setting: the only free table was near the open door to the street, and subject to both the noise and fumes from the traffic. We left but went back for lunch the next day, which was pretty good but not fantastic. Still, the servers seemed pleasant and we had no real complaints.

A favorite local eatery with same friendly servers. Good diverse menu with daily specials for lunch and dinner. Under new management and glad to see server staff retained for smooth transition...if you liked it before you will like it again!

Stumbled upon this place because nothing is open very late in the area. The service was great, food was really good and served quickly. Fish and chips and the curry dish were fantastic. My son said it was the best burger he has had.

I had chicken pad thai and the person I was with had a clubhouse. Both were delicious. The clubhouse had a turkey breast-not sandwich meat and the pad thai was amazing. Reserva una mesa ahora

Had lunch here one day and dinner the next day (that was take out) .... both were very good, actually excellent. Spaghetti Bolognese was really good.
