Three of us dined at this restaurant on a busy Bank Holiday Monday morning. There was a bit of a wait for a table, but it was well worth it. The staff were all young, but they were very friendly and welcoming. Our order was taken quickly after a short wait in line, and the food was excellent. The only minor criticism is that it would have been helpful if the servers collecting drinks also cleared tables, as they often returned to the counter empty-handed. This would have improved the waiting times and kept the restaurant area looking better. The food, especially the breakfast baps, was delicious. We will definitely be returning.
The food is good cafe food at very reasonable prices. Staff pleasant and attentive. However, the experience was spoint by the excessive noise of wooden chair legs constantly being dragged on a hard tiled floor which reverberated around the restaurant making it difficult to maintain conversation. This could easily be rectified by fitting felt pads to the bottom of the chair legs (available from any DIY outlet). I do hope the owner reads this, and considers a solution as I can't believe that they are not aware of the problem.
Went for breakfast waited over an hour from the time we ordered. Saw people who came in after us being served their breakfast before we were. Asked where was our food a man came out and said he had forgotten about our order even though they had taken our money. Then the man turned angry and asked us to leave. After the bad service we received and attitude of the man I was not able to eat a thing. No refund or recuperation was offered. Would NOT go there again.
Stopped in for a Sunday breakfast while daughter was at D16 around the corner. The choice was excellent. I settled on a breakfast baguette and my son a breakfast with black pudding on the side. The place was busy but the wait time was fairly short. Portions were generous and while it tasted great , I couldn’t finish mine. It set us up for the rest of the day. My wife, daughter and myself popped in to this seafront cafe for a cuppa but decided to have a meal This cafe is certainly value for money where a large breakfast of 3 sausages, 2bacon, 2 hash browns, 2 eggs, beans, tomatoes and mushrooms with toast was only £8.20 (as of 5/12/2023.
