Strandcafe Donauterrasse

My family took me on a trip through the Wachau and were we lucky the sun shone he sky was blue and the Danube was almost due. After lunch we walked by the Danube and felt we needed a coffee and a rest and we went up on to the veranda of the Strand Café, we were lucky and had a very good and comfortable table and had coffee and the most delicious home made cakes the one in my eyes was the best for me was an Apricot Tart with Meringue on the top. The place was very busy and the waitresses managed very well and were helpful to move tables so people got the most sunshine.A very pleasant and relaxing hour spent and a good snack to make it even better, they also served cooked food

The setting cannot be beat. We did wine tasting at another location and walked along the Danube to reach it. We ate on the outdoor patio, on a gorgeous day. Many river cruise boats went by. They also have indoor seating. My apricot chicken on rice was just OK. They accept credit cards. Our waitress did not smile; the service got really slow when they got busy. But the scenery was unbeatable.

The Strandcafe is a very nice Restaurant located in Spitz, Lower Austria, beside the Danube River, offer Austrian food and good drink, Coffee, Wine. The Restaurant had balcony very nice to sit there and enjoy the fantastic Danube River views

Best apricot dumplings I have ever had - but only during apricot season. Situated directly by the banks of the River Danube.
