To be fair, Strandcafe has a nice location overlooking the lake and bathing area. The food quality is very poor. Prices are expensive. The chicken in the chicken salad plate was made out of formed type of meat with no texture and put on Chinese style skewers. The taste was so bad if I had no ordered it, I would not have known what it was I was eating. The lettuce was okay. Quality of tomatoes and other items was very poor. We have had fabulous produce throughout Germany and this was very poor quality. Water was 4.8 euro. The ice cream was 4.6 euro and was also pretty tasteless. We went in as there was nothing else open on the Lake and it was raining. First impression was ok but the inside smelt horibly. The Service was wearing normal clothes so there was no way of knowing who was a waiter and some of them ended up at their friends tables., Took them 15 minutes to take our food order by that point we just wanted the bill, eventually the waiter started bringing food to our table that we never ordered. We never ended up eating there which im very happy about as its really not worth a single penny. Drinks are overpriced if youre sitting inside, outside terrace has got great Location but thats it.
You cant get closer to the lake, its literlally at the lake with a nice view. Very close to where the ship goes from for tours. Nice cake assortment. We had cake and my husband some salad which was delicious. Price was good considering Starnberg seems to be quite pricey. We would go back!
We took a break from walking at at Lake Starnberg for cake and coffee. I can imagine the prices are worth to pay when there is nice weather and a view of the Alps. As familiy reviewer with small kids I can only rate average though as there are NO facilities to change a babys diaper.

Café/ restaurant on the Starnbergsee promenade offering excellent views across the lake. Great food and drink selection, the fare being typically Bavarian. Only downside is every time I hi visited they have a problem with midges, hundreds everywhere!
Wonderful place for quite morning coffee. On the shore of the lake (Starnberger see). If you wish you can swimm after coffe, i didn't :) But i was watching beautiful lady's lieing on the sun because was a beautiful sunny morning.
It is situated on the right as you come to the shore. Sitting outside one can enjoy the splendid view of the lake while having a drink, coffe or meal. The prices are a little bit higher than usual, you pay for being on the lake.
This is a very nice restaurant in the lake shore. The view is amazing! Great to have a nice drink, chill out and enjoy the weather. Food is ok...nothing great. In addition the staff is really friendly and helpful

Very fresh food and very tasty. Pasta with salmon was delicious as was the arabiatto...Shame they don't take credit cards other than German ones!
