Strozzi Cafe

After sightseeing and walking all day, we wanted a light dinner close to our apartment, and we walked into Strozzi Cafe. They had a menu in English (not as extensive as their German menu) but you are free to order from either.This is not a fancy place, but rather a lively neighbourhood restaurant, where people meet for a drink and a bite to eat. The food was tasty, relying on sauces to enhance plain pork cutlet or chicken breast. Only house wines are available by the glass; and they are basic, but very inexpensive.Pros: Convenience, lively atmosphere, wide selection of foods (esp. open-faced sandwiches), makes you feel like a "local", home-style, unpretentious food.Cons: Smoking is permitted throughout the restaurant, and the smoke can get quite thick!

A little off the beaten path, you have to intentionally go to this place, but it is worth the effort. Great prices, and a good selection of Austrian dishes, cooked to order. The cold vegetables/salad served with the Schnitzel was "to die for". We were the only tourists there. Two provisos: Smoking is allowed and pretty much everyone in the restaurant smoked, so if that bothers you.... And they don't take plastic, so make sure you have cash... but not much. Dinner for 4 with drinks and dessert was less than 700 Euros.

this place is a restaurant ,a coffee shop, a local meeting point ,a wine bar ,an institution for the surrounding locals the menu offers a lot of seemingly homemade dishes everybody remembers from his mother in surprisingly good quality at reasonable prices

one of my favourite cafes in 1080. I have never eaten there but the coffee and the drinks are very fine, besides the service is good and ppl are very friendly. recommendable!

An excellent cafe, great food and a great location. Real Viennese style, can highly recommend. Excellent and friendly service.
