A year later, I decided to return to try the desserts at Sugar Marmalade. It was a scorching and humid summer day, with multiple heat warnings in place. We entered the cafe hoping for a cool, air-conditioned environment where we could enjoy some snacks and use the wifi. Although we did get some cool snacks and wifi, the place was only loosely air conditioned. Despite this, we opted to stay as we didn't want to drive around town in the intense heat. If you're looking for a unique dining experience, be sure to check out this cozy little restaurant that offers a fusion menu. On a hot day, there's nothing more refreshing than their cold and delicious desserts and drinks. In addition to a full dinner menu, they also serve snacks, egg waffle desserts, grass jelly, and tapioca desserts. The variety of options is endless. The service was excellent, and they even remade our kimchi fries when we requested no seaweed on them. Just a heads up, they only accept cash, so remember to stop by the bank or use the ATM in their doorway before you visit.
Tapioca with mango, had an overabundance of mango! Can you imagine! The mango was also ripe and sweet. The black grass jelly was very flavourful. The rice balls/dumplings were el dente with a great texture and not mushy, nor gooey. Plenty of menu options and they all appear yummy. Good service in a hip atmosphere. Flavours are delicate and not merely a mouthful of sugar.

Perfectly accommodated my personal request to substitute toppings that I paid extra for due to their listing not having the option to put more than 1 quantity for any extra topping. Despite having left the desserts in the fridge for 4 hours before consumption, the taro, sweet potato pearl delight balls were still soft chewy!
The popcorn chicken here was amazing! So flavorful and super delicious! As for the fresh mango with pearls, it was a real treat—sweet and delightful!
The portions for the Party Snack Platter were very small. It wasnt a party platter at all; one person could totally have finished all the food.
I enjoyed the signature dessert and regular sweet items from this placeIt is probably my favorite dessert restaurant in Markham.

I ordered takeout and noticed that the restaurant was not very clean. Additionally, the food was not top quality.
I've never been a huge fan of desserts, but Sugar Marmalade will be one place on my list for sure.
