As a fanatical cheesecake lover I am drawn towards this little centre mall cafe whenever I shop at Joondalup. Situated in the slightly quieter end of the mall, it's a good pitstop to rest and enjoy very nice cake and coffee. However, there seems to be a few issues that makes this place only 'good' when it could easily be much better. The lack of any pricing displayed is a major concern, and often tables aren't cleaned off promptly leaving customers sitting amongst piles of used crockery. On a few occasions I have had to personally move used cups and plates and wipe down my table with napkins to gain a spot in the small eating area. Latest visit to the outlet in Joondalup shopping centre was ruined by my wrap being overdone in the toaster. I was happy with being refunded, but was refused an alternative by the intense and intimidating manager Ryan who couldn't get over the fact that I should not have ordered a gluten free wrap. The fact I didn't realise it was gluten free was not the point. It was that it was overdone and although I tried to eat it, I gave up. It got worse when he came over to my table where I was enjoying one of their delicious lemon tarts and coffee (which was all I ended up having for lunch) and took me to task for ordering gluten free and not being happy with the service! What a disappointment.. the service is shocking ..the wait staff seems so bothered.. even though they were not busy .. found a hair strand in the carrot cake and no apologies from them .. just a ohhh !!!not going back here .. too much flash and no substance.
Had been craving their almond croissants but alas they have changed their formula doesn't taste the same anymore... ????. The one I had a couple of years ago at the Cafe by the lake was much nicer and more almondy.

This place is like a mini version of the other sugar and spice on Lakeside Drive. For me it is not as good, with less of a choice. The coffee is a bit average, and the staff need to smile once in a while
We been a few times and always enjoy the coffee and the cakes. Staff are lovely and always pleasant, whether they are busy or not. We've also ordered birthday cakes from here and they are delicious.
This place has nice cakes but you need to ask how much each individual item costs because nothing is priced. I found the staff to be a little bothered also if you asked them questions
The manager at the Lakeside Drive location is mean, rude, and arrogant. They were short-staffed but seemed unwilling to properly supervise and lacked manners. Overall poor experience.

This coffee shop serves Excellent coffee with a good variety of sweets. Service is great, perfect location when you just feel like a coffee hit in the busy mall atmosphere.
This place has very nice sweets. I have been here a few times and don't mind it at all. It is a little pricey and the staff seem like they really don't want to be there.
