As part of the Seven Hills Group of clubs, I was excited to try Abby's Restaurant, as its name implied that it was separate from the Alpha Global brand that has been disappointing at Seven Hills following the closure of the Star Buffet. The welcome was warm and friendly, with Samantha greeting us and ensuring that our Covid entry requirements were met. We were seated in the dining room, where I observed Covid hygiene practices being implemented as soon as a table became available. eating was terrible and the staff was rude. all around us got their food, but we waited. When I went to the counter to see what happened, I was told that they had blown us up and our food was ready. we were never given a summer, as they could strangle us. when I had nicely pointed out that we were never given a summer, the employees insisted that we had a summer and that we were referred to the person they had given the summer. he denied that he had a summer. we took the food from the counter and it was cold and terrible. We have been coming here for around 5 years and have found the food good and service excellent. After the last lockdown in 2021 we returned to find a whole new staff and terrible food and service. The last 3 times we have been we...have dealt with around 45min wait times for food and dry overcooked meals. Tonight we waited so long we asked for a refund. When I queried the staff they said they had new management and all the previous courteous and efficient staff had left. Tonight I saw several meals returned to the kitchen and others getting upset at long wait times. Abbey's bistro used to be very good and is now a shambles. I hope the new management listen to their customers and get it back...
Penno Bowlo has clearly taken into account and addressed my previous one-star review. Today for lunch, the staff greeted me with smiles and were very friendly. The kitchen staff also seemed happy, and the food quality had definitely improved. I ordered pasta with cream sauce, which arrived quickly, was piping hot, and delicious. The restaurant was busy with many other diners, and all of their meals looked appetizing. Overall, the place seems to be thriving. Well done, Abby's, keep up the good work.

Order fish chips. Took 30 minutes to arrive cold with missing condaments. Fish was rubbering uneditable. Chef said it was Flathead but when pushed it was frozen from South East Asia. Salad was a week old. Management was unhelpful let chef be...very smartarsey didnt want to refund. Expected yo order something else. Steak sandwhich was thinner than minute steak, chicken bosciola was rubbery with a table spoon of $4 sauce which covered the corner of the chicken. Yes, I did get refunded.
Booked a table for two for Mother’s Day, they stuck us out like a shag on a rock outside the kitchen. Queues formed and we had to say excuse me just to stand up. Very busy and efficient kitchen although curiously my well done steak...arrived in 5 minutes, at the same time as our entree. Unfortunately the steak was so salty I couldn’t eat it, and I love my steak! Doubt we will go back.
We visited on a Monday evening and that is steak night, a discounted meal. The steak was excellent quality and cooked the way we like it. Chips were fresh and hot and nicely made salad to finish it off. They are happy to serve any...of the sauces separately in a jug. The staff are pleasant and obliging.
Everyone was so nice. The other customers were so friendly and the staff treated us like old friends. The food was excellent. We went on a raffle night and it was so much fun. We didn't win anything but we all had a great time.

I had the scotch fillet. not sure which part of the scotchfilet the first or last disc? it was mischievous and had a lot fat and gristle. it wasn't worth money, none of us finished our meal.
The food at this restaurant is amazing, and the customer service is impeccable.
