ok, not the most amazing Indian food I've ever eaten, actually very Germanized Indian food, but it was good enough that I was back several times and more often picked up to take. was that because I liked Indian food and had no other? real decisions, I hope not. would I recommend this place as a must in starnberg? No! would I suggest this place if I were asked where to go Indian? the menu is actually quite simple, no surprises. the sauces that are served with the papadum come from definitiw from any plastikeimer, and the basis for the tomato sauces all seem very, very similar. There must be something very wrong with the overall rating for this place here. We just tried it and we are regular indian food goers not just in Munich but in many other cities countries. Before i reveal the rest about the mains, let me just say that I drink coffee all types everyday and i know coffee. A really nice place for a meal in Starnberg. The food is really good however the value for money is simply not there and hence the three star rating. Food alone would be four stars for me. I had the haus thali which comprised of three curries and rice. Each of the dishes tasted excellent and the portion was good as well. I had the Gulab Jamun for dessert and it was ok but it felt like it was from a tin. The service was a bit slow and due to a public holiday the place was packed and it took a while to get food. This is one of my favorites in Starnberg. The Indian food is outstanding and the service is primo. They know how to make a spicy curry, so don't underestimate their four chili rating system. A three or two chili curry is perfect for me. I really like spicy food. I ordered the four chili curry once, and it was too hot to handle...how embarrassing. The mango lassi drink is wonderful and one of my favorite curries is the spinach and homemade cheese curry. I was surprised how great it was. The restaurant is only a short walk from the Starnberg train station (connecting you to Munich) and from the beautiful Starnberger Lake. They also have a great priced lunch menu Monday Friday.

we were there on a Saturday night at 18.00 a.m. and were very surprised when we learned that all the tables were booked out, but if we needed only one hour we could eat. we have done this and ordered it as an appetizer onionbaji. the woofer rings were much too large and were not crispy I guess they were not freshly cooked and warmed up. the lamb rogan josh was average, the rice was very dry and I suspect it was cooked at least on the day before. the mint naan was covered with dry mint that was tasteless. the service was good and friendly.
where to start. bad service, food color, bad quality, and we ordered a bottle of wine and they tried to give us a completely different bottle of much lesser quality. that happens to me for the first time, even for German-Indian eating is bad.
we were with a group of people there, among them a small child. waiter very attentive and gave a very good service. the explanation is perhaps a little overloaded, but the overall experience was very good.
the personal is friendly and offers great advice based on spicy or nutritional needs. eating is authentic and consistently good. the best Indian cuisine in the environment.

eating is average, the portions are not larger than rehearsal plates and the prices are very high. I would eat here again only to lower trips and larger portions.
food and service leave to wish. I love Indian food and hoped that sur bollywood would satisfy my needs. but unfortunately no.
