We came with my wife this Saturday night in discovery. After a quick tripadvisor tour, the choice was undoubtedly made on quality, and it is at the rendezvous. Certainly when you pass the door you can apprehend because the place is cosi but the habit does not make the monk. The meal is of quality, without adding it, everything is fresh, minute, in front of your eyes. I have read unhappy comments on the quality of the sushi and the friendliness of the boss, I want to add my grain of salt to this: you come to a restaurant that offers Japanese food, don't confuse asie and japon or tell you about what you eat in Japanese restaurants where the cuisine is made by Vietnamese or Thai. here the chef...
While driving through the nice city of Mâcon in south Burgundy, I happen to walk around the city center and discovered the only Shushi Bar in this town. The boss who is not japanese, really enjoys his work and has a great knowledge of sushi and sashimi made the traditionnal way. We had a great time there although the place is small but the atmosphere is close to what I have encountered in Tokyo and Kyoto. Choice is made on a computer but the rest is hand made like it is supposed to be. Three beers to choose from : Asahi, Kirin and Sapporo ... What else ? I highly recommend Sushi Iro to the japanese cooking fans passing through town. Go, Suhi Iro, go !!!
Yes the boss is a little special so I've been doing some cash because I knew his reputation and I wasn't disappointed. Super polished I asked him if he had the card for an order to take away. He told me very dryly the screens at the reception (very well done.) I ordered and he calmed down. sushi are home and made to order so as to say that they are perfect freshness but it is expensive. Unfortunately for the price we still have more sushi in the big cities but here he knows. It's the only sushi in town.
Been here around 7:30PM, the place is really small and therefore we sat outside. There is only 1 person in the restaurant who is preparing the food. The sushi is really good and very fresh. I have nothing bad to say on this sushi place, for European standards this is a great place to eat sushi. If you have been in Japan, you will notice some differences in flavor, but be honest, it is never the same thing in Europe as in Japan. Good place, highly recommended

sushi are indeed very good and fish very fresh and of quality. The only negative point is the attitude of the boss who is not really warm. given the number of comments pointing out, I think, sir, that a small effort on the friendliness and smile (even to the unused of your restaurant) would only bring you positive. Many restaurateurs unfortunately forget that it is the human contact that brings customers back as much as the quality of the kitchen.
every Friday my spouse orders sushi for 2. At first, the boss may seem remote but if you take the time, it is very nice and hyper pro. as to sushi, sashimis and others, it is simply perfect: fresh and tasty. A treat. nothing to envy Japanese restaurants in Paris or Lyon! on the price nothing to say. everything is done on demand and an irreproachable freshness. I don't mind putting the price for such quality.
actually special boss, but finally nice after 1st cold contact. on the other hand, the sushi are excellent, well-stocked so are well worth their prices unlike I could read in other reviews. fresh products, prepared for order, so provide a time after order by phone or short waiting of 20-30min if directly in store. Had a grat meal here, best sushi i ever had. Realy fresh and great taste. Good price/quality. Unfortunalty i discovered this place my last day in Macon otherwise i would have gone back for sure.
