Pros: Relatively inexpensive. Prompt service. Good portion. They 've been around for a while.Cons: Quality of tuna and fluke is very low. Tuna is sinewy, pink (i.e. treated with gas), and flavorless. Same can be said about fluke, which is rubbery, tasteless, and actually quite 'earthy '. It 's a shame because these are two most commonly found sashimi cuts at any sushi restaurant.The quality is probably fine if you wanted heavily flavored rolls, but if you want to enjoy taste of fish, I would recommend spending more money at other places.
Fantastic sushi takeout spot! This restaurant is managed by a formally trained chef, and it shows. The rolls are incredible, with the perfect amount of rice and fish! The presentation is impressive, and the menu offers a wide variety of special rolls along with excellent service. The udon was also delicious! Prices are comparable to other sushi places in the area, but the flavors are superior. I will definitely be returning!
I've ordered delivery from Sushi Isalnd a few times via GrubHub. Everything is always fresh! I enjoy the variety of roll combinations they offer. They have a good amount of rolls with cooked fish as well, which is always good because some members of my family are not fans of raw fish. I'd definitely recommend using this business.
I have to say, Sushi Island used to be our favorite place to order a large sushi platter but now in 2022 the quality has really gone down. I gave it the good ol' 3 last chances/tries before finally switching to another place. Hope they get back in shape in the future

This is my go to sushi take out place. I order here about 3 to 4 times annually, and usually get the sashimi/ sushi platter; never had any issues. Quality of sushi/ sashimi/ rolls are comparable to other sushi places.
Absolutely delicious! Having worked at other sushi restaurants in the past, I'm quite discerning, but this place really hit the spot for me. Highly recommended!
High quality for the price as far as Im concerned, Sushi Island is main staple of my diet. Owner operated, I highly recommend it if in the Palisades Park Area.
