This shop deceived consumers. They used pork to pretend to be beef. When I tasted it and found that it was pork, I told the waitress. The waitress went to the kitchen to ask the chef. They explained that because the meat is steamed, the color of the meat It will be whiter, but the meat is obviously fried. The fat part of the meat has a pig particularly obvious taste. There is no beef smell. I feel uncomfortable after taking a bite. Their fried prawns use re-cooked oil, which is full of strong oily flavor, which is very unhealthy. At first glance this place doesn't sound or look thank you I have a dining however yet humbly designed inside and basic whoever's doing the sushi behind the bar is absolutely amazing! We've all tried everybody's dishes there was six of us it was so good! The sushi was amazingly fresh and there were many different options to choose from it might be kind of hard to figure out what it is you want but you will definitely find something that you will like! So don't judge a book by its cover cuz this story inside and this little place has some great food in it! And they also serve drinks which is always a plus
The Caribbean roll was tasty, but I also ordered the spicy salmon, yellowtail, and mango crab, and unfortunately, the fish in all three dishes tasted stale. The mango was also dry. Just by looking at the color of the spicy salmon, it seemed like something was not quite right. Additionally, my Thai iced tea spilled all over the bag, but I believe this was more of a delivery issue than the restaurant’s fault.
Just ordered an UberEats order with the usual spicy salmon and spicy tuna rolls to only find out both spicy salmon and one spicy tuna roll were bad. After taking a bite I could taste and “smell” a very foul taste that doesn’t belong there. I’ve had these rolls at numerous restaurants and this is the first time I’ve had to throw out rolls for not being fresh. Ridiculous.

the personal is very disoriented. they are so confused when it comes to getting out and dipping. it is understandable during the busy times to have a person to have the names for the people who pull out, but no whole system is messed up where all customers need to wait more than 30 minutes. also during covid, they do not follow protocol to mask completely up.
This restaurant offers some of the best sushi in NYC. Don't let its appearance fool you; it’s truly a hidden gem! The prices are affordable, and the food is delicious—everything tastes fresh and expertly prepared. I've tried nearly everything on the menu, and they've never let me down. I highly recommend sampling everything they have to offer!
The sushi here wasn't fresh, and the pieces were too small—just half a bite. The wasabi was also quite stingy; I ordered 24 pieces of sushi but ran out of wasabi after just the 5th piece. Rakuzen and Tomo are far better options. Overall, Sushi Island doesn't justify the price.
