"I love sushi, but I wasn't thrilled. The rice has sesame seeds on it, and the hand cut rolls don't say which has fish on top or only inside. The wait staff are lovely and very kind. The parking is atrocious!"

Stuns on this place while in the area craving sushi. We had reservations for my daughter's birthday dinner, but the restaurant canceled us and we had to find another place to eat. Katsu-ya didn't disappoint. Parking was limited so we used the $8 valet. We sat immediately without reservation. Our server gave great recommendations and was very thoughtful about my shell allergy. We enjoyed everything! We started with the fresh halibut with ponzu, spicy tuna on crispy rice and blue tuna were amazing, we ordered a variety of sushi cut rolls and hand rolls. At the end of dinner the staff sang happy birthday to my daughter. We will definitely be back when in LA!

This is a busy restaurant so plan on a wait or phone in a reservation. The sushi bar is always packed. Friendly service and attentive. The food was appetizing and flavorful. We had the Albacore Onion (pictured), a staple here, the Crispy Rice Tuna (their signature dish), the Robert Roll and the very tasty Baked Crab Hand Roll. A must go to dining experience!

This place is amazing! Chef Leo is great sit at the bar in his area if you're here when he's working. He has amazing attention to detail and a great attitude. The food... Well, let's just say it was SO GOOD that I didn't bother to take pictures cause I couldn't wait to eat it :D At this place... Food really is art, both beautiful and absolutely delicious!

They set up a table outside for which it was nice, but it's just a walkway. Not much ambience. The food was okay, but not special. I had sushi and my partner had chicken teriyaki. Bang for your dollar I had better sushi in town.
