I'm not sure why this restaurant received a low rating, but it may be due to some non-Japanese diners not fully understanding the dining experience. The food was surprisingly excellent and even better than some restaurants I've visited in Vancouver. The restaurant was very clean, and the service was outstanding. Contrary to what some reviews have stated, the older lady serving us was not rude at all. If you choose not to wear your mask and don't want to follow COVID protocols, then it’s understandable that you might not have a good experience. The older server was actually very kind and sweet. I had a wonderful and delightful experience on Christmas Day. The tempura was among the best I've ever had, featuring a light and delicate batter, and the chirashi was beautifully presented. It's clear that the owners take great care in every detail and genuinely enjoy serving their customers.

Staff is friendly and honest/upfront about longer wait times is you don’t make a reservation.The food is very good and fresh, worth the wait.Highly recommend if your looking for an intimate setting where time isn’t the priority.Very clean and calm atmosphere, I enjoyed this place.

The ideal place to celebrate 56 years of marriage! The food was excellent and beautifully presented, and the soft music created a pleasant atmosphere for conversation. We wholeheartedly recommend this hidden gem for a special occasion.

Sashimi was fresh and Ebi Sunomono was nothing I've had before. The entrance was dark and cluttered but we dined at the patio. The nice scenery was such a different experience than the inside. The service was great.

Everything we had was fresh and extremely tasty. From sashimi to vlocan rolls, chicken with chilli sauce. Great value too and would highly recommend.

The sashimi (both salmon and tuna) was amazingly fresh! We enjoyed dining here two nights in a row, and it was a wonderful experience.
