Oh how I wanted to give this place 4 stars like their counter part in Lake Forest. Unfortunately I just can't after my two trips here. I have to admit I came specifically to try their ramen and neither visit really satisfied me. First off, I don't know why, but they have a separate menu just for ramen which is fine, but they don't give you this menu! On both occasions I've had to specifically ask for it. So I had the Taiwanese Tonkatsu ramen which 1) tasted nothing like Taiwanese ramen as I've had the real thing in Taiwan multiple times 2) was spicy as hell (and Taiwanese ramen is not usually spicy) I don't recall the menu saying spicy either. - **Shiitake Kushi: 10/10** - Grilled shiitake skewers drizzled with a delicious sauce. I’m not sure what the sauce was, but it was fantastic. At only $2 per skewer, you might as well order ten of them. Other restaurants charge $10 or more for similar offerings, and these taste just as good, if not better.
- **Egg Rolls: 9/10** - Really great egg rolls! They were a bit pricier at $6 for three, but worth it.
- **AAC Maki: 9/10** - Super fresh, with sesame seeds and high-quality ingredients.

I ordered sushi and requested it to be wrapped in cucumber. The server didn't mention the $6 extra charge, and I ended up with only 4 pieces instead of the 6 I was supposed to receive. When I inquired about it, the owner ignored me completely. She threw down the menu, had a rude conversation with me, and even told me never to come back. I was shocked, mistreated, and disrespected just for asking about my bill. I understand she might have been having a bad day, but I never expected her to react that way. Be cautious if you decide to visit.
Food here was just ok. Service was efficient and friendly. What put me off was the nickel and dime-img prices that were listed on the menu charging extra for this and that. I mean do you really have to put on your menu- No refills on soft drinks etc!? And to put a sign on your thermostat do not touch! Why don 't you buy a cover at Home Depot so no one can touch it! Duh! So tacky and typical! Sushi was ok. With so many choices in HP I would not come here again.

Fantastic spot for sushi and authentic Japanese food in Highland Park. I was amazed to see anything but 5 stars across the board, because this place deserves a glowing review. The owner takes pride in his business, which you can tell by their consistently amazing food. If you love good quality sushi or authentic Japanese dishes, this is the spot to go to in highland park!!
Fantastic sushi! And they make rolls to order upon request. Our favorites are the Chicago roll, brittle hot tuna, and tekka (plain I know, but my 4 year old is a huge fan). Wonderful staff and service truly love this place!
Never leave this place disappointed! Great, quick, efficient, service and also fresh and delish meals every single time. Worth the wait if any. Make sure to order the spicy mayo, you will thank me later!! Would go again.
