Since it was my no meat Friday , thankfully a friend whom I was having a pre show meal with was fine to dine at Sushi On Brand...a restaurant neither of us have tried. Although I grew up in and frequented the area and my love for sushi knew no bounds, these days I avoided downtown Glendale like the Plague which was why I 'd never heard or seen this place before. This place was decent. It's been here for as long as I can remember, over 20 years for sure. Decent price and decent food but for sure out dated. Decor isn't much to look at. Lighting is low and it's very 90's in there. Menu is pretty simple. Standard stuff that you'll find at most places. The food is decent like I said but the rolls are pretty big and clunky and again just seemed dated. Sushi itself was pretty fresh. Got got some tuna, albacore, yellowtail and mackerel. It was ok. Why, oh why, is it difficult to find a good quality sushi establishment in Glendale? This is my second time giving this place a try and as before, it simply wasn 't mind-blowing. The service was spectacular though, so I 'm at a loss as to what to rate this. 3.5? Regardless...I 'd suggest settling with simpler rolls if you want to try the food here. I came here for lunch yesterday for the first time. The restaurant is well kept and the staff are friendly. I ordered from the lunch special..8 pcs spicy tuna, white fish asparagus tempura, side of rice and small bowl of miso soup. The soup- lacked salt, which is very unusual for miso soup The rice- no brown rice option : The sushi- the spicy tuna was gummy and nothing to rave about The tempura- an interesting blend of white fish and tempura deep fried. It was ok. I just couldn 't say it was good or yummy . I am not a picky eater and I love sushi, but this spot just didn 't deliver. Very photogenic menu items with a remarkable variation of the common themes of rolls, sushi and sashimi. Everything was fresh, avocados without a stain, and yet in the end, the items lacks fervor a flavor. A bit flat and boring. What I distinctly did not like was the sticky table, and the difficulty to motivate the server to clean it only doing it (with attitude) after I asked twice. After all, it might have been the feeling of the veneer itself that seemed sticky, but gosh, it should not be that much trouble to quickly wipe it when asked!! Not too bad! I came here with a friend who swears by this place (recommends their Uni, but unfortunately I don't eat meat. I had the Philadelphia Roll without the meat. It was pretty good, but I think they put raw onion in it? They do serve you the wasabi and ginger first, but no miso soup like most traditional Japanese restaurants, my friend said you have to ask for it. They also serve soda in a can, so sadly, no refills unless you want to pay for an extra can. Parking is convenient, just around the back. $1 for each hour.

Service: fair. The ladies serving seemed to rush us in ordering, clearing the table, and paying, but the restaurant was completely empty. Had to ask for water from multiple servers. Food: meh, it was average. Sushi quality was ok, but for the price you pay, it should be better. So many sushi spots in this area.. please try a different place.

Sushi is pricey. Rolls cost $14-15 during lunch time which is same price of Katsuya sushi in Americana but this location far on brand and maryland street has way better sushi places. Just one thing my friend brought me there cuz of their hand Rolls with crab. I took udon which was not tasty at all. Reserva una mesa ahora

We visited on Tuesday night, it was very quite but still some customers. The restaurant is very nice cozy and seats are very comfortable. I think it's renovated. We ordered some popular rolls and hot sake. Everything tasted good, we enjoyed it. Nice place to hang out with friends .

I went in for their happy hour special for a snack. For $10 I got 3 hand rolls stuffed with delicious fresh fish. I'll definitely be doing that again. Excellent value and service. I have no complaints at all.
