My family of 4 went to Sushi Q last night for dinner. We usually go to the Sushi Train at the Metro (previously the ones on Gouger St and Grenfell St) which was our closest and best sushi. We thought we'd try Sushi Q because it's a short walk from our house, although we were worried that the sushi may not be as fresh as the one at the Metro shopping centre simply because of the smaller turn-over. We need not have worries as we were very happy with the sushi and with the staff. We were able to request sushi that wasn't already on the train - the staff also asked if we'd like anything in particular. Surprisingly the food was awesome ( even it was cold) but very poor customer service, we just wanted order our drinks and dishes which need to cook in the kitchen however, we had to wait for 20 min then we just decided to grab the drinks ourselves, they just looked at us and no one cared. Three girls sitting down and talkin in their own language, did not even ask us to take order or offering any type of service, until it seemed the owner walked in and then all the wait staff got up and one actually asked if we wanted anything, a bit late as we were almost done. If you like to go here to try, don't expect any kindness from wait staffs. Once again, all day $3 plate sushi is delicious and varie...
A sushi restaurant opened by korean onwers, every plates of sushi are all $3. Ordered bimbimbap and spicy ramen, bimbimbap is not tasty at all, more on the homemade food side. The ramen is just a shin ramen cooked with two frozen prawns, do not recommend to order their hot serve food! Most of sushi are less than average, Id rather be eating sushi rolls for less than $3. They would have special on Sundays, so it's not a bad idea if you go on Sunday when most of the other places are closed and you are hungry, craving for some cheap sushi also not really care about the taste that much.
The Aburi Salmon is excellent, they give you a good serving size and for $3 for two, the price cannot be beaten. The chef went off menu and was creative and made some tempura prawn with aburi salmon which was excellent too. Most items at $3 a plate are excellent value, apart from the aburi scallop, where you only get one, (Genki is cheaper at $5.20 for two) Every Sunday they do a lucky dip, where you can get 10-100% off your meal...we loved this little promo. Used a Groupon Voucher - 40 pieces for $25. Excellent Value! Ordered 48 hours in advance - was ready on time for pick up. Lots of variety .... Steak, Avocado & Cucumber, Tuna, Crab, Chicken Teriyaki, Salmon plus Egg. We ended up with 42 pieces ... Bonus. Everything was really fresh and tasted beautiful. Best sushi I've ever had in fact. It was my Mum's first taste and she loved it too. We definitely recommend!! 8/10.
First thing we are hesitant to go there, so we give it a try tonight when we order Spicy Ramen I'm shock because they serve instant noodles which you can cook with less than 1 dollars they serve or they offer in their menu. If I were you don't bother to go there waste of time and money go somewhere else..... ????????????????
I was a little hesitant to visit Sushi Q due to its lack of patronage but was lured by the promise of $3 plates. Good variety and surprisingly fresh! with both hot and cold offerings on the train. Better to visit at lunch time because at dinner it can often be a fair wait due to busy takeaway customers
