I wanted to love this place but the attitude of staff was not nice. We called in advance for reservations and they said they don’t take reservations. Then as we came in the restaurant was more than half empty and they said we had to wait. We saw 2 groups come in say they had reservations. Then seated another group before us without reservations. What kind of treatment and atttitude is this? Highly uncalled for. Even if your food is good you don’t treat ppl like this. Never again.
The food is uninspired — neither terrible nor exceptional. Additionally, the pork potstickers we received were undercooked. They really need to revamp their menu, as it hardly ever changes. Furthermore, there are no unique sushi rolls or modern Japanese dishes. It’s such a shame considering the great venue and attentive wait staff. If only the food matched the high standards of the rest of the restaurant.
A perfect date night spot by the lake in Columbia! We loved the unique chef rolls they offer. The menu also features a wide variety of entrees and appetizers that we’ll have to come back to try. This visit we had the Hurricane Roll and the Fourth of July Roll; both were delicious and filling, with fresh ingredients. The service was also excellent!

This place has been our family favorite for more than 20 years. Other places have flashier presentation but Sushi Sono has quality fresh sushi and great service that are unmatched in our area.
The atmosphere, food, service, and location are fantastic. Although it is a bit expensive, you are definitely paying for quality in all those aspects, making it well worth the price.
